We have a work culture that values expertise, ownership, and a collaborative spirit.<br/><br/><b>About This Role</b> : <br/><br/>This is a Senior JavaScript Engineer role with expertise in Vanilla JS.
This is an Individual Contributor (IC) role.<br/><br/>Unlike typical UI-focused frontend positions, this role centers around engineering our core JavaScript product- a high-performance script that runs on customer websites.
You will work at the intersection of browser internals, web performance, and backend services, designing systems that handle billions of impressions per month.<br/><br/><b>Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities</b> : <br/><br/>- Own the design and development of our client-side JavaScript engine that optimizes ad delivery and layout in real-time<br/><br/>- Collaborate closely with Product, Revenue, and Ad Ops teams to identify and build new revenue-driving features<br/><br/>- Participate in LLD (Low-Level Design) and HLD (High-Level Design) discussions for frontend and backend initiatives<br/><br/>- Perform code reviews and drive engineering best practices<br/><br/>- Help troubleshoot and resolve production issues across browser and server environments<br/><br/>- Mentor junior engineers and guide them on technical architecture and performance tuning<br/><br/>- Contribute to improving our development processes, automation, and observability<br/><br/>- Support project management efforts and ensure high-quality, timely delivery of initiatives<br/><br/><b>You Should Have</b> : <br/><br/>- 6 - 10 years of experience in frontend-focused product engineering, with strong contributions to production systems<br/><br/>- Mastery of JavaScript, especially vanilla JS and modern browser APIs (closures, prototypal inheritance, DOM manipulation, event loop, async patterns)<br/><br/>- Expertise in designing resilient, high-performance client-side code (not just UI components)<br/><br/>- Experience with Node.js and Express.js, comfortable working on backend APIs when needed<br/><br/>- Proficiency with TypeScript and modern ES6+ JavaScript practices<br/><br/>- Deep understanding of web security, HTTP protocols, and cross-browser compatibility challenges<br/><br/>- Solid knowledge of system design principles, including scalability and performance trade-offs<br/><br/>- Familiarity with code versioning tools (Git/SVN) and modern CI/CD workflows<br/><br/><b>Bonus</b> : Exposure to Java, Docker, ReactJS, SQL Server, or NoSQL databases</p> (ref:hirist.tech)
