<p></p><p>Assistant Manager - the Role:<br/><br/>We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accounting Manager to support our accounting department in managing financial reporting, team coordination, and ensuring timely completion of accounting tasks.<br/><br/>The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in accounting principles, and the ability to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams.<br/><br/>This role plays a crucial part in maintaining financial accuracy, process improvements, and compliance with internal and external regulations.<br/><br/><b>Key Closing & Financial Reporting:</b><br/><br/>- Oversee and review monthly closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.<br/><br/><b>Team Management & Coordination:</b><br/><br/>- Lead and supervise accounting team activities, delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.<br/><br/>- Provide training and mentoring to junior team members to enhance their skills and productivity.<br/><br/><b>Bookkeeping & Quality Control:</b><br/><br/>- Perform detailed review and double-check bookkeeping and accounting entries to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.<br/><br/><b>Client & US Office Communication:</b><br/><br/>- Act as a primary point of contact for clients and the US office, addressing queries, clarifying accounting treatments, and ensuring smooth communication.<br/><br/><b>Management Information System (MIS) Reporting:</b><br/><br/>- Prepare comprehensive MIS reports including budget tracking, variance analysis, and other financial metrics for management review.<br/><br/><b>CPA Work Papers & Compliance:</b><br/><br/>- Assist in the preparation and review of CPA work papers, ensuring adherence to audit and regulatory requirements.<br/><br/><b>Tax Assistance:</b><br/><br/>- Support income tax preparation and filing processes, including assisting with 1099s and W-2s preparation and filing.<br/><br/><b>Time Entry & Process Monitoring:</b><br/><br/>- Oversee Intacct time entry processes, monitor accounting systems and internal processes for opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.<br/><br/><b>Employee Relations & Performance Management:</b><br/><br/>- Foster positive employee relationships, manage performance evaluations, and support HR initiatives within the accounting team.<br/><br/><b>Internal Process Adherence:</b><br/><br/>- Ensure strict compliance with internal controls and processes such as Document Checklists, Activity Lists, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Financial Work Papers.<br/><br/><b>Operational Efficiency:</b><br/><br/>- Collaborate with management to identify and implement improvements to enhance client profitability and departmental efficiency.<br/><br/><b>Data Collection & Client Billing:</b><br/><br/>- Assist management in timely collection of key client data including Work Planners and Financial Statements Submission Checklists.<br/><br/>- Manage client billing processes, with a focus on hourly clients.<br/><br/><b>Confidentiality & Compliance:</b><br/><br/>- Maintain confidentiality of client information and strictly adhere to guidelines set by ISO/IEC:27001 standards to ensure data security.<br/><br/><b>Required Qualifications:</b><br/><br/>- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br/><br/>- 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with exposure to team handling and managerial responsibilities.<br/><br/>- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.<br/><br/>- Proficiency with accounting software such as Intacct or equivalent ERP systems.<br/><br/>- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and cross-functional coordination.<br/><br/>- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.<br/><br/>- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.<br/><br/>- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.<br/><br/>- Understanding of ISO/IEC:27001 standards or similar compliance frameworks is a plus</p><p></p> (ref:iimjobs.com)
