Technical Buyer- Procurement (IT Infrastructure, Global)

Location: Bangalore/Mohali

Department: Procurement

Reports To: Procurement Manager

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Executive – Procurement with strong expertise in global procurement of IT infrastructure products and services.

The role requires end-to-end procurement handling – from RFQ/RFP to PO creation, vendor management, cost negotiations, and ensuring timely delivery to support business-critical IT infrastructure projects across global regions.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Operations:

- Manage end-to-end procurement process for IT hardware, software, networking, cloud services, and related IT infrastructure.
- Handle global RFQs and RFPs, ensuring competitive quotes and supplier compliance with company standards.
- Ensure timely PO creation and tracking until closure.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with global OEMs, distributors, and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranties, and SLAs to drive cost savings and value.
- Onboard new suppliers as per compliance and update vendor databases/OEM sheets.
- Ensure procurement complies with global policies, tax norms, and legal requirements.
- Maintain accuracy in documentation (POs, contracts, trackers) with proper cost center tagging.
- Partner with IT, Finance, and Project Teams to understand requirements and deliver within agreed timelines.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on request status, bottlenecks, and delivery timelines.
- Track procurement cycle times, supplier performance (SLA adherence), and cost savings.
- Prepare monthly PO reports (RFQs handled, escalations, approvals, cost savings, supplier onboarding).
- Escalate process gaps and drive continuous improvements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of IT products & services (Servers, Storage, Laptops, Networking, Security, Cloud subscriptions, Software licenses).
- Experience in global procurement operations (multi-region, multi-currency).
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and cost optimization skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Odoo, etc.) and MS Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple requests, and meet strict timelines.
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written) for engaging with global stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, IT, or related field (BE preferred).
- 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3+ years in IT infrastructure/global sourcing.
