Overview

We are looking to hire two Full Stack Developers who will drive the development of our merchant-facing web apps end-to-end.

This is a frontend-leaning full-stack role – you will spend a majority of your time building and optimizing rich React dashboards and performance-heavy UI components, while also designing and implementing backend APIs and services in Ruby on Rails.

You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver new features from concept to deployment.

This role offers the opportunity to influence product direction, tackle challenging scalability problems, and have a direct impact on the 30,000+ merchants who use our apps.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop & Optimize Frontend UIs: Build sleek, responsive dashboards and merchant-facing interfaces using React, ensuring an exceptional user experience with a focus on performance and scalability.
- Backend API Development: Design, implement, and maintain robust backend services and RESTful APIs in Ruby on Rails to support new features and internal tools.
- End-to-End Performance Tuning: Optimize application performance across the stack – from minimizing frontend load times to improving backend query efficiency – for our high-traffic, data-intensive apps.
- Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Work closely with designers, product managers, and QA to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and daily deployments to ship features continuously and reliably.
- Quality & Maintenance: Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage (unit and integration tests) to ensure reliability.

Monitor, debug, and resolve issues in production, and continually refactor and improve existing code for stability and performance.

What We’re Looking For

- 3–4 Years Experience: Proven experience (3-4 years) as a software developer in a product company (experience in e-commerce or SaaS is highly preferred).

You have built real products used by actual customers at scale.
- Front-End Excellence: Strong proficiency in React and modern frontend tooling (ES6+, webpack, etc.).

You write clean, modular UI components and understand state management and performance tuning in the browser.
- Backend Proficiency: Comfortable building server-side applications and APIs with Ruby on Rails.

You can implement business logic, integrate with databases, and create RESTful endpoints (bonus if you’ve worked with GraphQL or other backend frameworks).
- Dashboard & Tools Experience: Hands-on experience developing internal tools, admin dashboards, or merchant-facing apps is a plus – you understand how to build data-rich, intuitive interfaces for end users.
- Database & Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with PostgreSQL (or other relational databases) – ability to design efficient queries and schemas.

Exposure to AWS or similar cloud platforms for deploying and scaling applications.
- Product Mindset: You care about the why behind features.

You are comfortable digging into requirements, questioning assumptions, and ensuring that we build solutions that truly solve merchant problems.
- Adaptability & Collaboration: Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You are a self-starter who can take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion, but also know when to ask for help.

Tech Stack

- Frontend: React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 (Tailwind/Bootstrap), modern build tools (Webpack, Babel).
- Backend: Ruby on Rails (REST APIs, background jobs), some services in Python.
- Database: PostgreSQL.
- Cloud & DevOps: Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront), Docker, CI/CD for daily deployments.
- Tools: Git (GitHub), Agile issue tracking (JIRA/Trello), and a keen use of automated testing.
