<p><p><b>DBA</b><br/><br/></p><p>Exp : 8 to 12 years<br/><br/></p><p>Loc : Kochi<br/><b><br/></b></p><p><p><b>Job Description:</b> Database Administrator (DBA MySQL / PostgreSQL) Overview :</b></p><p><br/></p>We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in MySQL 8+ and PostgreSQL.
The DBA will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and performance optimization of large-scale database systems.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in high-availability environments, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and database security best Responsibilities :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Design, install, configure, and maintain MySQL 8+ and PostgreSQL database systems across development, staging, and production environments.<br/><br/></p><p>- Architect and implement high availability, clustering, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.<br/><br/></p><p>- Monitor database performance, proactively identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization strategies (indexes, queries, caching).<br/><br/></p><p>- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance by implementing database access controls, encryption, and backup strategies.<br/><br/></p><p>- Troubleshoot complex database issues, conduct root cause analysis, and provide permanent resolutions.<br/><br/></p><p>- Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to optimize database schemas, queries, and stored procedures.<br/><br/></p><p>- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for database health and performance.<br/><br/></p><p>- Manage scaling strategies to support large-scale, high-volume applications.<br/><br/></p><p>- Document standards, procedures, and guidelines for database management and disaster recovery.<br/><br/></p><p>- Stay updated with the latest database features, tools, and industry best Skills & Experience :</b></p><p><br/></p>- 8+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) in large-scale environments.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong expertise in MySQL 8+ and PostgreSQL administration.<br/><br/></p><p>- Hands-on experience with replication and clustering (e.g., MySQL Group Replication, Patroni, pgPool, etc.).<br/><br/></p><p>- Proficiency in performance tuning (query optimization, indexing strategies, partitioning).<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with backup & recovery tools (Percona XtraBackup, pgBackRest, WAL archiving).<br/><br/></p><p>- Knowledge of high availability & disaster recovery (HAProxy, Failover strategies).<br/><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, etc.) is a plus.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with cloud-based DB services (AWS RDS, Aurora, GCP Cloud SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL/MySQL).<br/><br/></p><p>- Proven capacity planning, scaling strategies, and experience with large-volume transaction systems.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong understanding of database security best practices (encryption, auditing, role based access).<br/><br/></p><p>- Proficiency in Linux system administration related to database hosting.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Qualifications :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.<br/><br/></p><p>- Certifications in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or cloud database technologies.<br/><br/></p><p>- Exposure to Data Warehousing, BI, or Big Data platforms.<br/><br/></p><p>- Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM), or Skills :</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.<br/><br/></p><p>- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
