We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Decision Science

Business: WPB Risk Analytics

Principal responsibilities

Risk Governance:

+ Support the role out of the Group Risk Appetite Frameowork (GRAF) from Group to IWPB, including annual review process of the Risk Appetite, define key risk indicators and other risk metrics as relevant.

+ On an ongoing basis, coordinate with risk steward teams to prepare, monitor, and analyze the IWPB risk appetite, risk metrics to identify trends and issues.

This includes producing monthly paper to summarize the IWPB risk profile.

+ Support the risk map reporting process, ensuring timely updates and meaningful insights for senior management.

+ Support the risk steward forum and risk management meeting as required.

Controls and Issues:

+ Support the management of Non-Financial Risk (NFR), including the reporting of such and participate in the relevant forum where NFR matters are discussed.

+ Manage the issue log including outstanding, long dated, retargeted issues on a ongoing basis.

+ Manage inventory of issue escalations, control assurance and audit report findings.

+ Support identification of key trends, emerging risks, and control effectiveness.

+ Collaborate with stakeholders across IWPB Risk to enhance risk reporting and ensure accurate, data-driven insights.

+ Using data systems including HELIOs, Qliksense and PRISM.

Risk Reporting:

+ Support the preparation of management packs, such as CRCO paper, regulatory decks, rating agency decks, and SMR reports as required.

Risk support:

+ Support the wider Performance and Delivery team to deliver various initiatives, including but not limited to risk culture and rriorities.

+ Any other ad hoc projects as required.

Teamwork

+ Good collaboration and relationship management, interpersonal, communication skills; the ability to negotiate and influence across networks of matrixed stakeholders to manage stakeholder to one Global solution.

+ Experience in contributing a wide range of projects, across multiple workstream teams and stakeholders of different levels, cultures, and across Global, Regional and Country operating models.

+ Promote the value of challenging the status quo, seeking to improve ways of working and having a forward-thinking mind-set, in line with the Group’s values and strategy.

+ Role modelling a positive work culture based on respect for people, integrity of actions, creativity and collaboration leading to increased productivity.

+ Be able to work across both East and West time-zones as part of a global team.




Qualifications


+ Demonstrates strong knowledge of the people, processes and systems involved in the management of various risks.

+ Knowledge of issue reporting mechanism and HELIOs system a priority.

+ Critical problem-solving skills, able to balance structured solutions with pragmatism as appropriate to business needs.

+ Strong prioritization and project management skills and be able to perform multitask under pressure, to meet challenging deadlines, whilst retaining a keen eye for detail.

+ Ability to clearly articulate the Bank’s Global Principles, Risk Management and Non-Financial Risk Frameworks and be able to demonstrate how these are embedded in the management of risks.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to negotiate and work effectively with senior business leaders across geographies and functions.

+ Ability to drive change and provide positive influence to achieve organizational goals.

+ Experience and capability to identify and evaluate risks and be able to articulate appropriate control solutions to mitigate the risk

+ Able to make considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC values, reputation and business.

+ Demonstrates strong knowledge of the people, processes and systems invoved in the management of Retail Credit Risk activities through the credit lifecylce

+ Prior experience working in a Credit Risk Management role or equivalent Risk and Control role within a Businsess,

+ Critical problem solving skills, able to balance structued solutions verus pragmatism as appropriate to business needs

+ Strong prioritization and project management skills and be able to perform multitask under pressure, to meet challenging deadlines, whilst retaining a keen eye for detail.

+ Ability to clearly articulate the Bank’s Global Principles, Risk Management and Non-Financial Risk Frameworks and be able to demonstrate how these are embded in the management of Retail Credit Risk
