Job description

Role - AWS Cloud Engineer

Exp - 6-10 year

Location - Bangalore/ Hyderabad


An AWS CloudOps role involves providing advanced technical support for AWS cloud infrastructure, handling escalated incidents, performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis, managing operational tasks like patching and backups, and collaborating with L1/L3 teams and clients.

Key responsibilities include monitoring performance, ensuring availability and security, automating processes, managing infrastructure as code, and contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing.

The candidate should have the willingness to work towards providing a “great customer experience” as the goal and ready to take the extra step to ensure the goal is achieved.


Key Responsibilities

  • Incident & Problem Management: Resolve complex incidents escalated by L1 support, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.

  • Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor the health and performance of AWS services (e.G., EC2, S3, RDS) using tools like CloudWatch, and implement optimizations for availability and cost.

  • Infrastructure Management: Handle the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of AWS services and associated infrastructure, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Security & Compliance: Ensure cloud environments meet security standards and compliance requirements by implementing security best practices and assisting with audits.

  • Collaboration: Act as a liaison between L1 support, L3 specialists, development teams, and clients to ensure seamless service delivery and address issues effectively.

  • Automation & Documentation: Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and contribute to the knowledge base to facilitate continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.


Key Technical Skills

  • AWS Services: Deep knowledge of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, and Route 53, EKS, ECS, WAF, etc
  • Operating Systems: Strong system administration experience with both Linux (e.G., RH Linux) and Windows Server environments.

  • Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Splunk, and Datadog.

  • Certifications: AWS Cloud Solutions Architect or Cloud Engineer certifications required.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with IaC tools like CloudFormation or Terraform for provisioning and managing infrastructure.

    Hands on experience in using CI/CD tools, gitlab/gitrunners preferred.

  • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for automation and troubleshooting.


Soft Skills

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions and collaborating with teams.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, mentor junior team members, and participate in on-call rotations.
