<p><p><b>Description :</b></p><br/><p>Role : Lead Software Engineer</p><br/><p>Experience : 8-12 Responsibilities :</b></p><br/><p>- QA Strategy & Planning</p><br/><p>- Define, implement, and maintain the overall QA strategy aligned with product and business goals.</p><br/><p>- Plan test activities across multiple projects ensuring timely and high-quality releases.</p><br/><p>- Drive continuous improvements in testing practices, automation coverage, and quality processes.</p><br/><p>- Team Leadership & Mentorship</p><br/><p>- Lead and manage a team of QA engineers, both manual and automation-focused.</p><br/><p>- Assign tasks, review work, and provide mentorship to help team members grow in technical and professional skills.</p><br/><p>- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and excellence in the QA team.</p><br/><p>- Test Automation & Framework Development</p><br/><p>- Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for UI, API, and integration layers.</p><br/><p>- Ensure automation scripts are reliable, reusable, and well-integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.</p><br/><p>- Evaluate and implement tools/technologies that can enhance test automation efficiency.</p><br/><p>- Manual & Exploratory Testing</p><br/><p>- Perform manual testing when needed to validate new features, edge cases, and user flows.</p><br/><p>- Conduct exploratory testing to identify defects beyond scripted test cases.</p><br/><p>- Ensure functional, usability, performance, and compatibility testing is thorough.</p><br/><p>- Cross-functional Collaboration</p><br/><p>- Work closely with Product Managers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.</p><br/><p>- Partner with Developers and DevOps engineers to integrate testing throughout the SDLC (shift-left testing approach).</p><br/><p>- Act as a quality advocate in discussions, ensuring that QA is considered at every stage of development.</p><br/><p>- Test Case & Defect Management</p><br/><p>- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test cases and test data.</p><br/><p>- Track, report, and manage defects using established defect tracking tools.</p><br/><p>- Lead regression testing cycles and ensure no critical functionality is broken during releases.</p><br/><p>- Quality Best Practices & Metrics</p><br/><p>- Establish and promote QA best practices across projects (test automation adoption, code quality checks, early defect detection).</p><br/><p>- Monitor and report key quality metrics like defect density, test coverage, automation pass rate, and execution trends.</p><br/><p>- Provide transparency to leadership on product readiness and quality risks.</p><br/><p><b>Required Skills & Qualifications :</b></p><br/><p>- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.</p><br/><p>- 712 years of QA experience, with at least 24 years in a leadership or managerial role.</p><br/><p>- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices.</p><br/><p>- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured).</p><br/><p>- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar).</p><br/><p>- Experience testing web applications, APIs, and backend services.</p><br/><p>- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.</p><br/><p>- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.</p><br/><p>- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.</p><br/><p><b>Good to Have :</b></p><br/><p>- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).</p><br/><p>- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).</p><br/><p>- Knowledge of security testing practices.</p><br/><p>- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
