About Position:

We are seeking an experienced API Architect to drive the design and strategy for our APIs. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the API architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

You will collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to align business goals with technical solutions.

Your expertise will shape the future of how our systems and services interact with each other and with external clients.

- Role: Azure API Architect - Location: All Persistent locations - Experience: 12 to 16 years - Job Type: Full Time Employment

What You'll Do:

- Expert on Azure API Management, Logic Apps, event hub, service bus, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage and Spark, Grafana, Kafka.

- One project end to end implementation and delivery, Designing the solution, Lifecycles of APIs during onboarding in APIM, Caching mechanisms on APIM, Versioning of APIs in API Management, Blue-green and canary deployment - API Development: Build and integrate RESTful APIs for insurance claims processing.

- Azure Services (Hands-on) : Azure APIM, Azure Function, Azure Service Bus, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure KeyVault - Knowledge is required on : Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor & App Insights - Web Services/ Web APIs/Microservices - REST APIs, OAuth, Exception/Error Handling, Monitoring, Load balancing, Auto Scaling

Expertise You'll Bring:

- Deep API Design and Architecture Expertise: Proven experience designing and building robust, scalable, and secure APIs using industry best practices.

You understand the nuances of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and other modern API paradigms, and have experience choosing the right approach based on the system's requirements.

- Microservices Architecture: Strong experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures.

You understand the complexities of decomposing monolithic applications into service-oriented systems and have hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes to manage microservices.

- Cloud Platforms and API Management: Expertise in working with cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including leveraging their API management tools (e.g., AWS API Gateway, Apigee, Kong).

You’ll ensure that APIs integrate seamlessly within cloud-native environments and adhere to scalability, availability, and security standards.

- Scalable and High-Performance Systems: Experience architecting APIs to handle high traffic loads while maintaining performance and low latency.

You understand load balancing, rate limiting, caching, and other techniques to scale API systems efficiently.

- Security Best Practices: In-depth knowledge of API security principles, including authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys).

Experience in securing APIs against common threats (e.g., SQL injection, DDoS attacks) and designing APIs that comply with data protection regulations like GDPR, CCPA, etc.

- API Testing and Monitoring: Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for APIs (e.g., Postman, Swagger, JUnit) and experience in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Proficiency in API monitoring and logging to ensure APIs are performing as expected and errors are tracked effectively.

- Collaborative Leadership and Mentoring: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, designers).

Experience leading teams, providing mentorship, and setting standards for API development to ensure consistent, high-quality code across the organization.

- API Lifecycle Management: A clear understanding of the full API lifecycle—from design and development to deployment and retirement.

You will guide teams on API versioning, deprecation strategies, and documentation practices.

- Problem-Solving and Innovation: Ability to think critically and solve complex technical challenges.

You bring a forward-thinking mindset, constantly exploring new tools, methodologies, and industry trends to improve API architecture.

- Documentation and Standardization: Expertise in creating clear, detailed, and actionable documentation for APIs, ensuring that internal and external developers can understand and interact with your services with minimal friction.

This includes using tools like Swagger/OpenAPI for API specs and ensuring standards for code quality and consistency.
