<p><p><b>Job Title : </b> Backend Drupal Developer (Headless CMS)<br/><br/><b>Experience : </b> 5+ Years <br/><br/><b>Location : </b> Remote<br/><br/>Notice Period : Immediate Joiners Only</p><p><br/></p><p><b>Roles & Responsibilities : </b></p><p><p><b><br/></b></p>- Develop and maintain headless Drupal 10/11 backends for frontend integration.<br/><br/></p><p>- Expose content via GraphQL, REST, and JSON : API for consumption by frontend applications.<br/><br/></p><p>- Design and manage content types, fields, paragraphs, taxonomies, and view modes.<br/><br/></p><p>- Build custom modules and extend Drupal core functionalities using hooks and services.<br/><br/></p><p>- Configure and optimize Elasticsearch/Solr search for scalable, high-performing search solutions.<br/><br/></p><p>- Collaborate with frontend developers (Next.js and similar) to support component-driven development.<br/><br/></p><p>- Implement SEO-friendly, multilingual, and accessibility-compliant configurations.<br/><br/></p><p>- Apply performance tuning, API caching, and backend security best practices.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>- Participate actively in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, demos, retrospectives).</p><p><br/></p><p>- Conduct peer code reviews and enforce coding/documentation Requirements : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- 5+ years of backend development experience with Drupal 10/11.</p><p><br/></p>- Strong expertise in headless/decoupled Drupal architectures.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proven experience with GraphQL, REST, and JSON : API.<br/><br/></p><p>- Hands-on experience with content structures (content types, view modes, fields, paragraphs, </p><p>taxonomies).<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong background in custom module development, Drupal hooks, and services.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience integrating and querying Elasticsearch/Solr.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proficiency with Drush, Composer, Acquia Cloud, Git, DDEV, and CI/CD pipelines.<br/><br/></p><p>- Knowledge of Drupal and API security best practices.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a remote agile team.<br/><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with multilingual, SEO-friendly, and accessibility-compliant content structures.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience in caching, performance tuning, and securing API endpoints.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience conducting peer reviews and maintaining documentation to Have : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Experience with API versioning, rate-limiting, and token-based authentication (OAuth2/JWT).</p><p><br/></p>- Knowledge of Varnish, Redis, and CDN integration for performance optimization.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with automated testing in Drupal (PHPUnit/Behat).<br/><br/></p><p>- Prior experience collaborating with Next.js frontend teams.<br/><br/></p><p>- Exposure to Content Staging, Multi-site architectures, or content governance workflows.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
