The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend services and APIs that power our customer-facing and internal applications.
You will work within a modern tech stack, including Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Terraform, to build scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that help business owners effortlessly launch and manage their companies.<br/><br/><b>Key & Architecture:</b><br/><br/>- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for both external customers and internal systems within a microservices architecture.<br/><br/>- Integrate backend systems with databases like MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, and optimize data storage and retrieval.<br/><br/>- Develop Node.js middleware to bridge backend services with frontend applications.<br/><br/><b>Collaboration & Quality:</b><br/><br/>- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver end-to-end features.<br/><br/>- Write automated tests (unit, integration) to ensure code reliability and maintainability.<br/><br/>- Maintain high coding standards by writing clean, modular, and well-documented code.<br/><br/><b>Required Skills & Qualifications :</b><br/><br/><b>Core Experience :</b><br/><br/>- 3+ years of professional experience in backend development.<br/><br/>- Proven experience with Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js.<br/><br/>- Hands-on experience with MySQL and either PostgreSQL or MongoDB.<br/><br/><b>Technical Proficiency :</b><br/><br/>- A strong understanding of backend architecture, database optimization, and distributed systems.<br/><br/>- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.<br/><br/>- Skilled in writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.<br/><br/>- The ability to debug complex backend issues and identify performance bottlenecks.<br/><br/><b>Professional Attributes :</b><br/><br/>- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.<br/><br/>- A demonstrated ability to work in a remote-first environment with flexible hours to accommodate meetings across different time zones.<br/><br/><b>Preferred Skills :</b><br/><br/>- Experience with GraphQL.<br/><br/>- Experience with Docker and containerized application development.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.<br/><br/>- AWS certifications or equivalent cloud experience.<br/><br/>- Knowledge of messaging systems or event-driven architecture, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
