<p><p><b>Description :</b><br/><br/>What You'll Do :<br/><br/>As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a critical part of our core engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly available and high-performance services that power our product.<br/><br/>You will lead technical design discussions, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices across the team.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities :</b><br/><br/>- Design & Development : Architect and implement scalable, robust, and secure microservices using Java and the Spring Boot framework.<br/><br/>- System Ownership : Take end-to-end ownership of critical system components, from design and development to deployment and monitoring in a Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) environment.<br/><br/>- Performance & Scale : Optimize application performance, latency, and scalability to handle massive transaction volumes and high traffic.<br/><br/>- Code Quality : Drive code reviews, establish coding standards, and implement comprehensive unit and integration testing to ensure code quality and maintainability.<br/><br/>- Collaboration : Work closely with Product Managers, DevOps, and Frontend Engineers to define API contracts, integrate features, and deliver a seamless end-to-end product.<br/><br/>- Mentorship : Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, contributing to the team's technical growth and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.<br/><br/>- Troubleshooting : Debug and resolve production issues across various services and levels of the stack.<br/><br/><b>Required Skills & Qualifications :</b><br/><br/><b>Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable) : </b><br/><br/>- 4+ years of professional experience in Backend Software Development.<br/><br/>- Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring/Spring Boot ecosystem.<br/><br/>- Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and Microservices.<br/><br/>- In-depth knowledge of SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) databases and advanced database concepts.<br/><br/>- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (deployment, scaling, and using core services).<br/><br/>- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.<br/><br/>- Experience with version control systems, primarily Git.<br/><br/><b>Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Points) :</b><br/><br/>- Experience with message queues/streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).<br/><br/>- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.<br/><br/>- Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment or building high-traffic consumer applications.<br/><br/>- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).<br/><br/>- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is a plus<br/><br/></p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
