At SAP Procurement Product Team, our mission is to provide the world’s leading cloud-based spend management solution, unifying the SAP Procurement portfolio across SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba Applications.

With Project Nexus we are consolidating our different technology stacks on the Business Technology Platform.

In this position you will be instrumental to drive the consolidation of our product portfolio on the Business Technology Platform forward.

**What you'll do**

As Chief Development Architect (m/f/d) you will be part of the SAP Procurement Architecture team, which means …

+ You will define the Golden Path for Procurement applications based on the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) in all aspects and closely collaborate with and drive requirements towards BTP
+ You will define and drive the re-platforming of current Ariba applications to BTP and support application teams in this process
+ You will work with our area architects to shape and establish sustainable and resilient application architecture concepts for the SAP Procurement portfolio
+ You will define and align guidelines and architecture principles to ensure technical and architectural feasibility, readiness, and compliance
+ You will coach, advise and oversee implementation team(s) in all architectural aspects regarding compliance with architecture guidelines and relevant product standards
+ You will prepare management decisions based on architecture risks and estimated effort for business cases or backlog items
+ You will guide the Engineering teams to design, develop and implement SaaS-ready complex software products across variety of platforms and technologies
+ You will collaborate with Product Managers and Area Architects to translate business requirements into architectural designs across all procurement products incorporating latest AI technologies

**What you bring**

+ Excellent understanding of cloud native product development and production
+ 10 years of professional experience with SAP applications and technologies
+ At least 5 years of experience in cloud software delivery, e.g. CI/CD tooling, Deploy with Confidence
+ Good understanding of AI technologies, including the integration of AI/ML into enterprise systems, driving intelligent automation, and enhancing data-driven decision-making processes
+ Experience applying AI assistants throughout the Development life cycle (Specification, Design, Code with AI)
+ Experience in domain-driven design
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
+ Experience in being part of a large-scale software development team distributed across geographical locations and proven track record in architecture related positions
+ Result-driven attitude and experience in leading virtual teams across geographical locations
+ Experience and understanding of micro services architecture and cloud programming models
