We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and operation of our AWS-based SaaS platform serving clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector.
This role is responsible for streamlining the software development lifecycle, building secure and automated CI/CD pipelines, and architecting scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will balance hands-on technical execution with guiding best practices in DevSecOps, compliance with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GxP), and cloud cost optimization.
You will own the end-to-end DevOps function, from CI/CD workflows and infrastructure automation to monitoring, security hardening, and compliance documentation.
Key Responsibilities
CI/CD & Automation
- Implement and maintain CI/CD workflows tailored for SaaS applications handling sensitive/regulated data.
- Automate and improve development, testing, and release processes to ensure repeatable and validated deployments.
- Integrate security scanning (SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, container image scanning) into pipelines.
Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)
- Architect and manage scalable, HIPAA-eligible AWS infrastructure (VPC, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Bedrock, etc.).
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and environment segregation (Dev/Test/Prod).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK) for reproducible environments.
Security & Compliance
- Apply DevSecOps best practices across pipeline and infrastructure management.
- Manage IAM, secrets, and cloud access controls with principle of least privilege.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, OS/container hardening, and ensure timely patching.
- Support HIPAA compliance by maintaining audit logs, encryption (at rest & in transit), and incident response readiness.
Monitoring & Reliability
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks (CloudWatch, GuardDuty, centralized logging).
- Ensure proactive detection and resolution of system reliability or performance issues.
Change & Documentation
- Plan, implement, and manage infrastructure and release changes through established change control processes.
- Create and maintain Run Books, cloud architecture diagrams, and operational documentation.
- Generate deployment evidence (logs, approvals, test results) to support client validation requirements.
Scripting & Maintenance
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling, adapting to new requirements or evolving implementations.
- Support integration and configuration updates across environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8 years of DevOps experience, with at least 3+ years in a lead role.
- Proven expertise in AWS cloud services and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
- Deep understanding of DevSecOps best practices, HIPAA/GxP compliance, and cloud security frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with global teams.
Preferred
- Experience of working with US/EU based teams
- Certifications : AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or equivalent.
