Job description

<p><p>To ensure the delivery of high-quality software through meticulous test planning, execution, and defect reporting.

The Senior Tester will lead test activities, contribute to test strategies, mentor junior testers, and collaborate closely with development teams to uphold software quality across the SDLC.

Additionally, knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is desirable to support validation of industry-specific workflows, integrations, and production floor functionalities in manufacturing-focused projects.</p><br/><p><b>Key Responsibilities :</b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><p>- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.<br/><br/></p><p>- Lead manual and automated testing efforts across various platforms (web, mobile, API, desktop).<br/><br/></p><p>- Identify, log, and track defects using defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).<br/><br/></p><p>- Participate in requirements reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality risks.<br/><br/></p><p>- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Dev, BA, PM, DevOps) to ensure clarity on requirements and timelines.<br/><br/></p><p>- Perform regression, functional, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.<br/><br/></p><p>- Support test automation efforts; write and maintain scripts in tools such as Selenium, Postman, or JMeter.<br/><br/></p><p>- Mentor junior testers and review their test cases and results.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ensure compliance with QA standards, processes, and best practices.<br/><br/></p><p>- Provide test estimates and contribute to test strategy and planning.<br/><br/></p><p>- Contribute to the testing of MES applications and validate shop floor workflows, data capture, and system integration with ERP platforms.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Work closely with manufacturing and business teams to understand MES use cases, system behaviors, and ensure production-readiness of MES functionalities.</p><br/><p><b>Key Performance Indicators :</b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><p>- Defect detection rate and leakage rate<br/><br/></p><p>- Test case coverage and execution percentage<br/><br/></p><p>- Turnaround time for test cycles</p><p><br/></p><p>- Number of high-severity bugs reported post-production<br/><br/></p><p>- Compliance to defined test processes and documentation quality<br/><br/></p><p>- Timeliness and accuracy of test reporting and metrics</p><p><br/></p><p>- Efficiency of automation scripts and test reusability<br/><br/></p><p>- Contribution to continuous improvement and process optimization<br/><br/></p><p>- Accuracy and completeness of MES-related test coverage (e.g., production order processing, machine data </p><p>capture, traceability)<br/><br/></p><p>- Successful validation of MES-ERP integration and minimal post-deployment issues in manufacturing workflows</p><br/><p><b>Qualification :</b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><p>- Masters or bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.<br/><br/></p><p>- ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Level Certification (preferred)<br/><br/></p><p>- Proficiency in English (written and verbal communication)</p><br/><p><b>Functional Skills/Competencies :</b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><p>- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and cases<br/><br/></p><p>- Hands-on experience with test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA)<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Postman, JMeter, or similar<br/><br/></p><p>- Good understanding of SQL and backend data validation<br/><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle<br/><br/></p><p>- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and test integration tools<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment<br/><br/></p><p>- MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) domain knowledge nice to have<br/><br/></p><p>- Understanding of shop floor processes, production order management, and traceability<br/><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with integration between MES and ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4 HANA)<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to validate MES functionalities such as work instructions, machine connectivity, and production tracking<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with MES tools like Siemens Opcenter, GE Proficy, Rockwell Factory, or equivalent is a plus</p><br/><p><b>Behavioral Skills/Competencies :</b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><p>- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills<br/><br/></p><p>- Attention to detail and commitment to quality<br/><br/></p><p>- Effective communication and interpersonal skills<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to work independently and as part of a team<br/><br/></p><p>- Mentorship and leadership capabilities<br/><br/></p><p>- Adaptability to changing priorities<br/><br/></p><p>- Proactive and self-motivated attitude<br/><br/></p><p>- Accountability and ownership of deliverables</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
