About this Role

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Data Architect with expertise in Teradata SQL and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This role is pivotal in shaping and governing data architecture across complex systems, ensuring seamless integration, high-quality data pipelines, and alignment with business strategies.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient data solutions that support business decision-making and innovation.

What you will do

• Conduct end-to-end impact assessments across all subject areas for new and existing demands.
• Design and maintain comprehensive data architecture documentation, including data models, flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Develop and optimise data models for databases, data warehouses, and data lakes to enhance data retrieval and analysis.
• Build and manage data pipelines integrating multiple data sources, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and implement data strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Support software migrations and perform production checks to ensure system stability.
• Lead database refresh and decommissioning programmes while maintaining high service availability.
• Ensure accurate database configurations and maintain documentation of infrastructure changes.
• Partner with third-party suppliers for root cause analysis and resolution of technical issues.
• Contribute innovative ideas to enhance system performance and data architecture.

What skills you need

Essential

• Proficient in Teradata systems and Teradata-related products.
• Strong command of SQL and data modelling concepts.
• In-depth understanding of data architecture principles.
• Experience with GCP services including Cloud Composer, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams and influencing outcomes.
• GCP Certified Professional.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Applications, or Computer Science.

Desired

• ITIL certification.
• Experience in IT infrastructure management environments.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive customer satisfaction.
