<p>Job Description :<br/><br/>- Knowledge of Failover clustering, SQL server AlwaysOn Groups, SQL server mirroring, SAN replication, and other high availability technologies<br/><br/>- Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the businesss Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)<br/><br/>- Test backups to ensure we can meet the business Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)<br/><br/>- Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends.<br/><br/>- Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms.<br/><br/>- As new systems are brought in-house, choose whether to use clustering, log shipping, mirroring, Windows Azure, or other technologies.<br/><br/>- Install and configure new SQL Servers<br/><br/>- Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors.<br/><br/>- When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.<br/><br/>- Document the companys database environment.<br/><br/>- Monitoring of database performance and stability<br/><br/>- Establish the baseline for system performance, recognize deviation, and suggest and implement improvements to slow running queries<br/><br/>- Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.<br/><br/>- Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with the engineering team.<br/><br/>- Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.<br/><br/>- Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions.<br/><br/>- Administering SQL Server, the backup, integration, restore, reporting and maintenance processes.<br/><br/>- Diagnose and analyze using third-party diagnostic tools.<br/><br/>- SQL Server security configuration and management<br/><br/>- Work with the team on migrating older versions of SQL Server to new, if required.<br/><br/>- Administer and maintain Azure SQL managed instance.<br/><br/>- Development on Power BI, if required.<br/><br/>- Create Business Requirement document, KPI dimensions matrix, source to target mapping documents.<br/><br/>MSSQL DBA Job Requirements :<br/><br/>- Experience on Microsoft SQL Server 2008,2012, 2014,2016,2017,2019,2022.<br/><br/>- Production Support Activities (Installation, Upgradation and Troubleshooting).<br/><br/>- Performance Tuning & troubleshooting<br/><br/>- SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016/2017/2019/2022 Migration.<br/><br/>- T-SQL Scripts for Administration and Monitoring tasks.<br/><br/>- Microsoft Clustering services (MSCS) knowledge- Install/Configure/support.<br/><br/>- Relevant knowledge of the operating system (2008, 2012,2016,2019) as far as MS-SQL databases is concerned.<br/><br/>- High Availability (Log shipping, Replication and Mirroring) Always ON<br/><br/>- User creation & maintenance, database log space monitoring and maintenance.<br/><br/>- Good knowledge on Always on and high availability<br/><br/>- Strong fundamentals of SQL.<br/><br/>- Strong in SQL Architecture, Backup & Restore process.<br/><br/>- Configuring CDC replication.<br/><br/>- Configuring TDE in always on servers.<br/><br/>- Knowledge on ITIL process.<br/><br/>- Good communication, should be able to clarify issues with customer</p> (ref:hirist.tech)
