has built technology that allows many drones to fly simultaneously and autonomously in interesting spatial and temporal formations.
BotLab is a startup at IIT Delhi Research and Innovation Park.
Two focus areas for commercialization of the technology are Media & Entertainment for drone light shows and in defense.
The technology is built from scratch by BotLab.
The goal of the BotLab is to fly thousands of drones simultaneously operated by a single user.
Our mission is to be part of the ecosystem that makes building hardware easy in India.
Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize mechanical components and systems for drones, including frames, propulsion systems, payload integration, and landing gear.
- Carrying out hands-on mechanical design, to various levels of detail, from conceptual feasibility studies till production hand over including assembly to prove design product's desired results.
- Develop, test, and refine prototypes to validate designs under operational conditions, including wind tunnel testing and field trials.
- Document and report test outcomes, highlighting areas for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize assembly processes and resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Interpret and implement technical and regulatory specifications to ensure compliance with aerospace and UAV industry standards.
- Create, review, and approve technical drawings, CAD models, and assembly documentation.
- Prototype design, execution, assembly & testing of prototypes.
- Write detailed reports and maintain accurate records.
- Keeping up with new manufacturing, materials and tools developments within area of expertise.
- Support field deployments and provide technical guidance to resolve on-site challenges.
- Participate in project teams as a disciplined engineer.
Experience & Skills
Experience with CAD software’s like SolidWorks, SiemensNX, Autodesk Fusion360etc.
- Proficiency in CAD software (higher preference for Siemens NX12 or higher versions) and simulation tools for stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics analysis.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, structural design, aerodynamics, propulsion systems, and UAV design
- Knowledge of different manufacturing processes like injection molding, Die casting, CNC machining etc.
- Hands on experience with Rapid prototyping techniques.
- Expertise in lightweight materials and advanced manufacturing techniques such as additive manufacturing and CNC machining.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate across disciplines and with stakeholder
