Job overview and responsibilities

The Developer plays an important role in creating and maintaining the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery.

The Developer's role is to plan, design, develop and launch efficient systems and solutions in support of core organizational functions.

This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues, opportunities or problems in order to maximize the benefit of IT and Business investments.

The Developer is experienced and self - sufficient in performing his/her responsibilities with supervision, but general guidance and direction.

Software Development:

· Design, develop and modify software applications/systems according to specifications.

· Support and troubleshoot software systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions

· Provides support to the software development leads

· Ensures that systems are properly integrated

· Demonstrate knowledge in software engineering and exposure to cloud technologies

Collaboration:

· Provides direction, tools, technical and process support to less senior developers

· Consults with Business Analysts and business partners on potential software solutions for business specifications.

· Works with business, support, or development teams recommending system enhancements.

Solution Orientation:

· Consults across multiple United Information Technology projects and technology areas to perform troubleshooting, problem management, root-cause analysis, and solution implementation.

· Assist Senior Developers / Developers in technology/project development review and technical assessments

Software Engineering:

· Demonstrate advanced knowledge of software engineering best practices such as: versioning and version control, software packaging and software release management

· Demonstrate knowledge of SDLC processes, inputs/outputs, standards and best practices, software design patterns, integration standards as well as its applicability at coding and testing cycles

· Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the application of development domain areas and specific technologies and tool sets.

· Complete comprehensive unit testing on all developed/enhanced software

· Develop appropriate software documentation

Result Oriented:

· Drive for results; works on moderate to complex projects; may work as a project leader

· Ensures that the technical solutions meet the customers’ business goals.

Keeping abreast:

· Keeps abreast of industry trends.

· Demonstrate knowledge of application design.

Strategic vs Tactical Vision:

· Collaborates with Senior Developer and Team in implementing enterprise vision and strategy to the project solution while balancing tactical needs to deliver.

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology and related fields.
• 6+ years of relevant work experience in Agile environment.
• Full stack developer working on critical frameworks, core business capabilities.


• Excellent hands-on development skills (full stack) including popular JavaScript UI frameworks ( React, NextJS), C#, .net or higher and RDBMS (MS SQL Server),PostgreSQL, NoSQL database; related design patterns/principles/frameworks.

Experience with SQL query performance tuning/optimization.
• Experience with ETL tools and data pipelines
• Knowledge of data replication and migration techniques (, AWS DMS)
• Understanding of data modeling, transformation, and validation
• Understands Technology systems & applications, integration (UI integration to backend APIs, etc.), Component Driven Development and microservices architecture.
• Ensure regulatory compliance requirements are addressed (, PCI, PII, GDPR)
• Great at coding, unit testing and on time delivery of quality components and or applications
• Effective participant of requirement gathering and analysis, prototyping, deployments and release planning/execution
• Demonstrate an innovative mentality by staying aware of new developments within the technology space and identifying which technologies to adapt to provide value to our business.


• Ensure timely commitments, pass unit testing, and meet functional and non-functional requirements.


• Support enterprise quality assurance teams.


• Work closely with team members in an agile development environment where continuous integration and delivery are critical.


• Effectively and efficiently work with team to deliver on time
• Size and estimate development efforts.

Define and manage development build plans.


• Analyze and refactor code periodically to keep it up to standards.
• Effective Communication (verbal + written)

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

• 3 years of hands-on experience with foundational AWS Services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Lambda, EKS, ECS, etc.

DynamoDB etc.)
• Understanding of serverless technologies
• Modernization of legacy services as applications are migrated to the cloud
• Experience with cloud security controls, DevSecOps and CICD pipelines
• Familiar with implementing and integrating with regulatory compliance requirements (, PCI, PII, GDPR).


• Airline experience preferred but not required.
• Agile Scrum working experience, with different geo locations
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
