Orbitt Space is building sustainable satellite platforms powered by cutting-edge electric propulsion technology to enable long-duration missions in Ultra Low Earth Orbit (ULEO).
We’re looking for a Power Electronics R&D Engineer to join our core engineering team.
You’ll design high-efficiency, high-voltage DC-DC converters and develop the Power Processing Unit (PPU) for our in-house propulsion system — from concept through testing in space-grade conditions.
🚀 What You’ll Do
- Design, simulate, and test high-voltage (up to 2kV), high-power (1kW+) DC-DC converters for space applications
- Lead schematic design, PCB layout (Altium/Cadstar/Allegro), and prototyping
- Implement thermal and EMI/EMC strategies for robust converter performance
- Develop control systems for digital and analog regulation of power electronics
- Validate and qualify systems for extreme environments and space standards
- Collaborate across propulsion, embedded systems, and integration teams
🎯 What We’re Looking For
- ME/MTech/PhD in Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- 3–4 years of experience in high-voltage, high-efficiency converter design
- Hands-on with Altium, Cadstar, Allegro, or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of hard/soft switching topologies
- Experience with PCB layout, thermal management, EMI/EMC, and lab testing
- Familiarity with space/aerospace-grade electronics is a plus
- A passion for space tech and a builder mindset
