<p><p><b>Job Title :</b> Embedded Firmware Developer<br/><br/><b>Location :</b> Bangalore<br/><br/><b>Experience :</b> 4- 10 Years<br/><br/><b>Role Overview :</b><br/><br/>We are seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer with strong expertise in C/C++ programming, RTOS (preferably VxWorks), and communication protocol implementation.
The role requires developing and optimizing low-level firmware, device drivers, and real-time applications for embedded systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and seamless hardware-software Responsibilities :</b></p><p><br/><b>Firmware Development & Optimization :</b></p><br/>- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware in C/C++ for real-time and mission-critical applications.<br/><br/></p><p>- Optimize code for performance, low latency, and memory efficiency.</p><p><br/>- Implement bootloaders, BSPs, and low-level hardware Development :</b></p><p><br/>- Work with RTOS platforms (VxWorks preferred) for task scheduling, synchronization, and inter-process communication.</p><br/></p><p>- Develop and manage multi-threaded, real-time & Protocol Implementation :</b></p><p><br/>- Design and integrate device drivers for communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, RS422, SPI, I2C, UART.</p><br/></p><p>- Develop protocol stacks and ensure robust data exchange between hardware & Testing :</b></p><p><br/>- Debug and troubleshoot firmware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/ICE, and debugging tools (e.g., GDB, Lauterbach).</p><br/></p><p>- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation.</p><p><br/>- Analyze and resolve real-time performance issues, race conditions, and Integration & Collaboration :</b></p><p><br/>- Collaborate with hardware engineers to validate designs and support bring-up activities.</p><br/></p><p>- Work with software/system engineers to integrate firmware into larger system solutions</p><p>.<br/>- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for firmware deployment and automated & Scripting :</b></p><p><br/>- Write and maintain Linux shell scripts for build automation, testing, and system monitoring.</p><br/></p><p>- Develop Python/Perl scripts (if applicable) for test harnesses and debugging support.</p><p><br/></p><p><b>Required Skills & Qualifications :</b><br/><br/>- Strong C/C++ programming skills with focus on embedded systems.</p><p><br/>- Hands-on experience with RTOS (VxWorks preferred; FreeRTOS, QNX, or RTEMS a plus).<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong knowledge of communication protocols: Ethernet, CAN, RS422 (plus UART, SPI, I2C).<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience in device driver development and integration.<br/><br/></p><p>- Solid understanding of real-time constraints, interrupt handling, and multi-threaded programming.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Working knowledge of Linux shell scripting for automation/testing.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proficiency with debugging tools, JTAG, and hardware analyzers.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in embedded environments.<br/><br/></p><p>- Good understanding of hardware-software interaction, schematics, and Skills :</b></p><p><br/>- Experience with safety-critical or DO-178C/ISO 26262 compliant systems.</p><br/></p><p>- Knowledge of Yocto, embedded Linux, or Linux device driver development.</p><p><br/>- Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).<br/><br/></p><p>- Exposure to secure firmware development (encryption, authentication, secure boot).<br/><br/></p><p>- Knowledge of performance benchmarking and power optimization techniques.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
