<p><p><b>Job Description : </b></p><p><br/></p>R&D Software Services team at Emerson Test & Measurement (NI) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (IC3) to work on the design and development of Software Build & Installer Tooling, Frameworks and Infrastructure to build, validate and release software products developed by NI.<br/><br/>The primary responsibilities in this position include upkeep of the NI Build system to ensure proper execution of the CI/CD operations and enable the release of NI products on time and with high quality.<br/><br/>The Software Engineer position is a challenging role within NI, requiring daily interaction with NI Engineering Teams.<br/><br/>This is a multi-functional role dealing with diverse engineering skills to resolve problems, complete tasks, and develop features to support deployed custom solutions worldwide.<br/><br/><b>In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be : </b><br/><br/>- Design, develop and maintain Build and Installer Tooling and Infrastructure (Software framework and tools) for Software products.<br/><br/>- Efficiency improvements, enhancements (adding new features), and maintenance of automated build infrastructure.<br/><br/>- Support the Product Teams to efficiently and productively demonstrate the Build Tooling.<br/><br/>- Closely coordinate with the global product teams to deliver High-Quality products.<br/><br/>- Follow the software development processes and design practices of the team.<br/><br/>- Understand and enforce to the coding guidelines of the team.<br/><br/>- Take ownership of features/modules within the product.<br/><br/>- Participate in feature design, testing and code review exercises.<br/><br/>- Meet challenging deadlines while ensuring code quality.<br/><br/>- Involve in designing and writing test cases for the developed features.<br/><br/>- Develop and maintain feature documentation.<br/><br/><b>Who You Are : </b><br/><br/>- You promote high visibility of shared contributions to goals.<br/><br/>- You quickly and significantly take action in constantly evolving, unexpected situations.<br/><br/>- You actively seek guidance from pertinent sources to make timely and well-informed decisions.<br/><br/>- You handle the risk that comes with moving forward when the outcome is not certain.<br/><br/><b>For This Role, You Will Need : </b><br/><br/>- B.E/ B.Tech<br/><br/>- Proficiency/Experience of software design and development experience in Python or any Object-oriented Programming <br/><br/>- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of proven experience in Software Engineering.<br/><br/>- A demonstrated ability in problem-solving, diagnosing technical issues, and proposing reasonable solutions.<br/><br/><b>Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart : </b><br/><br/>- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD systems.<br/><br/>- Working experience with a few of the following skills : <br/><ul><li>Languages : Python, Rust, Golang (Go).</li><li>Build : GNU make.</li><li>Installers : WiX, Opkg, Rpm, Debian.</li><li>DevOps : Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, GitHub, GitHub runner.</li><li>IaC : Terraform.</li><li>Microservices : Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, AWS.</li></ul>- Familiarity with software package types and repositories (Eg : NuGet, PyPI, DockerHub, Helm etc.<br/><br/>- Artifactory.<br/><br/>- Good in Linux Fundamentals.<br/><br/>- Understanding of Agile Development principles.<br/><br/>- Demonstrated ability to :<br/><ul><li>Persistently drive tasks to successful completion.</li><li>Effectively interact and connect with team members.</li><li>Effectively work in a diverse, multi-cultural group development environment.</li><li>Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently.</li><li>Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products.</li></ul>- Strong problem-solving skills, work ethic and drive to succeed.<br/><br/>- Understanding of testing concepts and SDLC.<br/><br/><b>Our Culture & Commitment to You :</b><br/><br/><p>At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
