<p><p>The Backup Administrator will be actively involved in the evaluation, review, and management of cloud based and on-premise backup solutions.<br/><br/>You will be part of a Team who supports a wide range of workloads.<br/><br/>You should be well versed in backup administration which includes installation, configuration and troubleshooting.<br/><br/>A strong candidate will be able to rapidly troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure, implement solutions that are scalable, while managing multiple customer groups.<br/><br/><b>What You Will Do : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- Execute and translate into operational excellence the database architecture roadmaps and specific plans to implement them.<br/><br/></p><p>- Backup firmware and software version upgrades.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proactive backup capacity planning.<br/><br/></p><p>- Usage of new backup features.<br/><br/></p><p>- Performance and scalability goals.<br/><br/></p><p>- High availability and disaster recovery goals.<br/><br/></p><p>- Data security and protection.<br/><br/></p><p>- Functionality, stress, and load testing.<br/><br/></p><p>- Compliance initiatives (SOX, PCI, etc.<br/><br/></p><p>- Participate in production on-call rotation (one week at a time of 7x24 on-call support for production environments).<br/><br/></p><p>- Execute major backup migrations as well as application migrations, with minimal system downtime.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ensure backup standards are followed and implemented.<br/><br/></p><p>- Backup health monitoring.<br/><br/></p><p>- Technical Documentation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Review procedures.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proactively monitor production backup systems, analyze findings, formulate recommendations, and work with the backup Architect to implement recommendations.<br/><br/><b>What Experience You Need</b><br/><br/></p><p>- BS or Associate's Degree/Technical Certification or equivalent job experience required.<br/><br/></p><p>- 5+ years experience as an Vertias(Cohesity)/Commvault production and development.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience With Linux (and Windows) Required.<br/><br/></p><p>- Knowledge of Backup Tools/Utilities (e.g. , Commserve, Altaview, opscenter, etc.<br/><br/></p><p>- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.<br/><br/></p><p>- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to plan work to meet project deadlines, accommodate demands by users, set priorities, organize information and escalate issues appropriately.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to participate in multiple projects concurrently.<br/><br/></p><p>- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation), customer service-oriented, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to understand new technologies quickly are essential.<br/><br/></p><p>- A strong commitment to network availability and performance, and professionalism at all times.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to speak to technical groups about designs and implementation.<br/><br/><b>What Could Set You Apart : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- Commvault and Cohesity experience.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong ability to prepare and present technical documentation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ability to communicate in a professional manner when interacting across staff levels and internal/external customers.<br/><br/></p><p>- Google or AWS certifications.<br/><br/></p><p>- Enterprise Storage experience.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
