<p><p><b>Description :</b></p><p><br/>Job Title : Windows System Administrator.<br/><br/>Experience Required : 5+ Years.<br/><br/>Location : Nashik.<br/><br/>Department : IT Infrastructure / Cloud Operations.<br/><br/>Reports To : Manager Infrastructure / Cloud Operations.<br/><br/><b>Role Overview :</b></p><p><br/>The Windows System Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Windows-based infrastructure and virtualized environments across on-premises and cloud data centers.<br/><br/>The role ensures availability, security, and performance of critical systems, supports incident and change management, and contributes to automation, patching, and compliance initiatives.<br/><br/><b>Key Responsibilities :</b><br/><br/><b>System Administration :</b></p><p><br/>- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022).<br/><br/></p><p>- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, WSUS, and related infrastructure services.<br/><br/></p><p>- Handle server provisioning, upgrades, patch management, and system hardening.<br/><br/></p><p>- Monitor server performance and capacity; ensure uptime SLAs are met.<br/><br/><b>Virtualization & Cloud :</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Manage VMware/Hyper-V environments including creation, migration, and backup of VMs.<br/><br/></p><p>- Work with cloud-based infrastructure (Azure/AWS) for hybrid or migration projects.<br/><br/></p><p>- Optimize virtual resources and ensure high availability configurations.<br/><br/><b>Backup, Recovery & Security :</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Configure and monitor backup jobs (Veeam, Commvault, etc.) and ensure DR readiness.<br/><br/></p><p>- Implement OS-level security configurations and antivirus/endpoint protection.<br/><br/></p><p>- Conduct regular patching and vulnerability remediation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Manage access controls and permissions across systems.<br/><br/><b>Automation & Monitoring :</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Implement PowerShell scripting for routine tasks and system automation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Integrate and maintain monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, etc.) for proactive alerts.<br/><br/></p><p>- Create dashboards and generate performance reports.<br/><br/><b>Incident, Change, and Problem Management :</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Respond to incidents, troubleshoot root causes, and ensure timely resolution.<br/><br/></p><p>- Follow ITIL-based change management practices for updates and deployments.<br/><br/></p><p>- Maintain proper documentation and configuration records.<br/><br/><b>Collaboration & Support :</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Work closely with NOC, Security, and Network teams to maintain infrastructure health.<br/><br/></p><p>- Support application, database, and security teams for system-related dependencies.<br/><br/></p><p>- Mentor junior administrators and provide L2/L3 escalation support.<br/><br/><b>Key Skills & Competencies :</b><br/><br/><b>Technical Skills :</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Windows Server Administration (2016/2019/2022).<br/><br/></p><p>- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP.<br/><br/></p><p>- PowerShell scripting and automation.<br/><br/></p><p>- VMware / Hyper-V management.<br/><br/></p><p>- Backup & Recovery (Veeam/Commvault).<br/><br/></p><p>- Security compliance and patching.<br/><br/></p><p>- Azure/AWS cloud familiarity.<br/><br/><b>Soft Skills :</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.<br/><br/></p><p>- Excellent communication and documentation skills.<br/><br/></p><p>- Attention to detail and ownership mindset.<br/><br/></p><p>- Team player with customer-oriented approach.<br/><br/><b>Qualifications :</b><br/><br/></p><p>- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.<br/><br/>- Microsoft Certified : Windows Server / Azure Administrator (preferred).<br/><br/>- VMware or ITIL certification is an added advantage.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
