<p><p>Join us in bringing joy to customer experience.<br/><br/> Five9 is a leading provider of cloud contact center software, bringing the power of cloud innovation to customers worldwide.<br/><br/>Living our values everyday results in our team-first culture and enables us to innovate, grow, and thrive while enjoying the journey together.<br/><br/> We celebrate diversity and foster an inclusive environment, empowering our employees to be their authentic selves.</p><br/><p><b>The Team : </b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><p><b>About The Role : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>We are seeking a highly experienced Senior OpenStack DevOps Engineer to architect, implement, and support our community-driven OpenStack-based private cloud infrastructure.</p><p><br/> You will be directly responsible for ensuring the scalability, resilience, automation, and performance optimization of our cloud environment by leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi.<br/><br/>This is a deeply technical role requiring expert-level understanding of OpenStack internals across major projects including Neutron, Octavia, Manila, Cinder, Nova, Ironic, and Glance.<br/><br/> You will also collaborate with platform and SRE teams to maintain secure, performant, and multi-tenant-isolated services that serve high-throughput, mission-critical applications.<br/><br/>This position is based out of one of the offices of our affiliate Acqueon Technologies in India, and will adopt the hybrid work arrangements of that location.<br/><br/> You will be a member of the Acqueon team with responsibilities supporting Five9 products, collaborating with global teammates based primarily in the United States.</p><br/><p><b>Key Responsibilities : </b></p><br/><p>- Implement multi-tenant OpenStack infrastructure aligned with open community standards, including network service isolation and tenant-aware resource scheduling.<br/><br/>- Automate the provisioning, lifecycle management, and configuration of OpenStack services and supporting components using Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi.<br/><br/>- Extend and maintain integrations for core OpenStack services : <br/><br/></p><p>1.

Neutron : Custom network plugins/drivers, L2/L3 routing, BGP, DHCP, and tenant network segmentation (VLAN, VXLAN, Geneve).<br/><br/>2.

Octavia : HA load balancing with amphora and provider drivers, TLS offloading, Layer 4/7 routing.<br/><br/>3.

Manila : Share drivers for NFS/CIFS, tenant access control, storage backends.<br/><br/>4.

Cinder : Block storage provisioning, volume snapshots, multi-attach, backend tuning.<br/><br/>5.

Nova : Compute resource scheduling, NUMA/cpu pinning, SR-IOV and PCI passthrough.<br/><br/>6.

Ironic : Bare metal provisioning workflows, BIOS/IPMI automation, PXE and UEFI boot configuration.<br/><br/>7.

Glance : Image lifecycle management, backing store optimization, image caching strategies.<br/><br/>- Contribute to upstream OpenStack projects when needed (bug fixes, driver enhancements, documentation).<br/><br/>- Implement continuous delivery pipelines for OpenStack updates, including patch management, service upgrade testing, and rollback procedures.<br/><br/>- Develop automated monitoring, alerting, and healing mechanisms using GitOps principles and observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Loki, Grafana).<br/><br/>- Harden services for high availability, disaster recovery, and scale-out operations.<br/><br/>- Perform deep-dive troubleshooting and performance analysis of OpenStack services across control and data planes.<br/><br/>- Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and root cause analysis for platform reliability issues.</p><br/><p><b>Minimum Qualifications :</b></p><br/><p>- 3+ years of experience operating and automating large-scale OpenStack cloud environments, preferably in community-driven or upstream-contributing teams.<br/><br/>- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code with Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi.<br/><br/>- Strong hands-on knowledge of Neutron, Octavia, Manila, Cinder, Nova, Ironic, and Glance.<br/><br/>- Strong Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) systems engineering background with advanced scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.<br/><br/>- Fluency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated test frameworks.<br/><br/>- Strong understanding of L2/L3 networking, SDN overlays (VXLAN, Geneve), load balancing (Octavia), and storage protocols (SDS) (iSCSI, NFS, CEPH).<br/><br/>- Demonstrated success building or maintaining multi-region or high-availability OpenStack clusters.<br/><br/>- Ability to write technical documentation and contribute to community wikis or knowledge bases.</p><br/><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><br/><p>- Contributions to upstream OpenStack codebases or participation in SIGs/WGs.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with RBAC, Keystone federation, Barbican (secrets management), and Ceilometer/Gnocchi/Aodh.<br/><br/>- Understanding of security best practices for tenant isolation, microsegmentation, and compliance (e.g., CIS, NIST).<br/><br/>- Background in telco, edge cloud, or large enterprise infrastructure environments.<br/><br/>- Experience building and maintaining automated test environments for OpenStack upgrades and validation (e.g., Tempest, Rally, or custom test harnesses).<br/><br/>- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience and relevant industry certifications will also be considered.</p><br/><p><b>What Youll Get</b></p><br/><p>- A collaborative team thats deeply invested in open source, community contribution, and infrastructure excellence.<br/><br/>- Complex technical challenges that require creative, scalable solutions.<br/><br/>- The opportunity to shape a next-generation private cloud platform built on true open infrastructure principles.<br/><br/>- Access to the latest tools, frameworks, and upstream project developments.</p><br/><p><b>Skills And Attributes</b></p><br/><p>- Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving : Demonstrated ability to translate complex, cross-domain requirements into scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure and automation solutions.<br/><br/>- Collaboration & Teamwork : Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, including developers, operations, security, and product stakeholders.<br/><br/>- Mentorship & Leadership : Passionate about knowledge-sharing and mentorship, with experience guiding junior engineers and fostering a team culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence in cloud engineering and DevOps practices.</p><br/><p><b>Employment Type : </b> Full-Time, Hybrid</p><br/><p>Five9 embraces diversity and is committed to building a team that</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
