Founding/Lead Robotics Engineer
Sydney | Full-time | Hybrid | Up to $200k + super
The Mission
A small team in Sydney is teaching humanoid robots to use their hands.
Not in simulation or the cloud, but on the robot itself.
They’ve built a lightweight, adaptive intelligence that learns to move, grasp, and act in unfamiliar environments without heavy datasets or retraining.
Now they need a senior engineer to take that brain and make it move.
What You’ll Do
Build and refine manipulation and control pipelines on Jetson hardware
Develop perception and SLAM modules within ROS2
Optimise inference performance, latency, and stability for real-time operation
Coordinate sensor fusion across cameras, force sensors, and depth inputs
Work closely with AI researchers to close the loop between model and movement
Deploy and test robotic systems in both simulated and live environments
What You Bring
Strong programming skills in C++ and Python
Deep familiarity with ROS / ROS2
Proven experience across SLAM, perception, and control architectures
Hands-on experience deploying on embedded platforms (Jetson, Orin)
Understanding of multi-modal AI or vision–action pipelines
Curiosity, precision, and the ability to turn theory into motion
