Job Summary:
The Software Engineer Manager manages a team of engineers and oversees the development and maintaining software applications.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily operations of the Software Engineering department
• Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and optimize processes
• Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement
• Responsible for budgeting and resource allocation for the department
• Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers and other technical staff
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate projects and resolve issues
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in technology
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors

Solid understanding of Cloud App and understanding of CI/CD process.

Capable of solving complex problem in right direction.

Must have knowledge in software design and architecture.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally

• Review and approve technical documents and reports.

Strategic Planning:

• Develop long-term goals and objectives for the Software Engineering department
• Identify and prioritize projects and initiatives to achieve departmental goals
• Monitor industry trends and anticipate potential challenges or opportunities
• Work with upper management to align departmental goals with overall company strategy

Project Management:

• Plan, execute, and oversee projects related to process optimization, product development, and equipment upgrades
• Establish project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
• Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure project success
• Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to meet goals and deadlines

Communication and Reporting:

• Maintain regular communication with upper management to provide updates on departmental performance and projects
• Prepare and present reports to stakeholders on key performance indicators, project status, and budget updates
• Communicate with external stakeholders, such as clients or regulatory agencies, as needed.

Team Management:
• Lead and manage a team, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
• Set goals and KPIs for team members and monitor performance.

• Develop and implement training programs to keep team members updated on trends and strategies.

Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field with at least 7 years experience, with at least 2 years experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
• Planning and Scheduling: Proficiently create project plans, define milestones, and establish timelines.

Ensure that tasks are well-organized and aligned with strategic objectives.
• Budgeting: Skillfully manage project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and monitor expenses.

• Resource Allocation: Allocate personnel, tools, and other resources efficiently to achieve project goals.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Project Management Professional (PMP): This certification is valuable for engineers who wish to move into project management roles.
• Certified Software Engineer (CCE): Recognizes Software Engineers who have engaged in professional development.
