<p><p><b>Job overview : </b><br/><br/> The purpose of this role is to lead the design, development, and implementation of a future-proof modular software platform for next-generation medical devices.<br/><br/> Acting as a key member of the Platform Development core team, the role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership to build high-performing teams, align cross-functional goals, and ensure delivery of robust, compliant, and innovative embedded systems.<br/><br/> This position drives end-to-end execution from architecture design and stakeholder collaboration to hands-on software development and regulatory compliance ensuring that critical-care medical devices are safe, scalable, and market-ready.<br/><br/> Ultimately, the role exists to transform ambitious product visions into reliable, life-saving medical duties and responsibilities : </b></p><p><br/> - Define and own the overall software architecture for embedded Linux platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.</p><br/> - Drive system-level design decisions and align software architecture with hardware capabilities and business requirements.<br/><br/> - Lead the design, development, and integration of Linux kernel, device drivers, BSPs, and middleware components.<br/><br/> - Establish and enforce software design principles, coding standards, and best practices across development teams.<br/><br/> - Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and cross-functional teams to define system interfaces and integration points.<br/><br/> - Evaluate and select Linux distributions, build systems (Yocto, Buildroot), and open-source components for product platforms.<br/><br/> - Guide teams in debugging complex system-level issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing long-term fixes.<br/><br/> - Drive cybersecurity and safety compliance within embedded Linux solutions (secure boot, data encryption, vulnerability management).<br/><br/> - Provide technical mentorship and leadership to development teams, reviewing designs and code for quality.<br/><br/> - Work closely with project managers to define technical roadmaps, timelines, and resource needs.<br/><br/> - Evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to ensure long-term maintainability and innovation.<br/><br/> - Ensure documentation of system architecture, interfaces, and design decisions for internal and external stakeholders.<br/><br/> - Support continuous integration and automated testing pipelines for embedded Linux platforms.<br/><br/> - Act as the technical point of contact with stakeholders, vendors, and partners regarding embedded Linux : </b><br/><br/> - Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or related field.<br/><br/> - 13+ years of proven experience in software development, preferably in regulated industries (med-tech, automotive, or high-tech).<br/><br/> - Strong leadership skills with experience building and guiding cross-functional teams.<br/><br/> - Deep technical expertise in embedded systems, software architecture, electronics, and mechanics.<br/><br/> - Proficiency with distributed embedded systems (Linux and embedded OS).<br/><br/> - Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated test frameworks, and hardware/software integration.<br/><br/> - Knowledge of self-test and production test systems.<br/><br/> - Proven ability to manage internal teams as well as external development partners.<br/><br/> - Practical experience with agile methodologies and modern product development practices.<br/><br/> - Familiarity with regulated environments (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820) highly desirable.<br/><br/> - Excellent communication skills.<br/><br/> - Entrepreneurial mindset with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills : </b></p><br/> - Proven experience in architecting, designing, and developing embedded Linux systems for complex products.<br/><br/> - Strong expertise in Linux kernel, device drivers, bootloaders (U-Boot, etc.), and BSP development.<br/><br/> - Hands-on experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or other Linux build systems.<br/><br/> - Solid understanding of embedded system architecture, including ARM/x86 SoCs, memory management, and peripheral interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, etc.<br/><br/> - Deep knowledge of real-time systems, multi-threading, and inter-process communication (IPC).<br/><br/> - Proficiency in C/C++ programming, with exposure to Python or shell scripting for automation.<br/><br/> - Experience with system-level debugging, performance optimization, and profiling tools (gdb, strace, perf, etc.<br/><br/> - Strong knowledge of secure boot, encryption, and cybersecurity practices in embedded Linux systems.<br/><br/> - Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Podman) and virtualization on embedded platforms.<br/><br/> - Proven ability to define and enforce software architecture standards, design patterns, and coding guidelines.<br/><br/> - Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for embedded systems.<br/><br/> - Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, MQTT, CAN, Modbus, etc.) relevant to embedded and IoT devices.<br/><br/> -
