<p><p><b>About the IT Team :</b><br/><br/> Glencore's Information Technology group develops and supports a range of IT applications and infrastructure to meet the needs of a fast moving, international commodity trading business.<br/><br/> The London-based team is primarily focused on energy trading (oil and gas) and supports business users across a number of offices globally.<br/><br/> The team covers activities across the IT lifecycle including architecture; project management; business analysis; software design, development and support; infrastructure design; and vendor management.<br/><br/> Glencore uses a wide range of modern IT technologies in London and its other offices and also uses a number of leading commercial applications, providing a diverse set of opportunities and challenges.<br/><br/> This role will suit an experienced full-stack analyst/developer with a broad, yet modern skill set and a proven track record, who ideally has knowledge and experience of the commodity or financial trading sectors.</p><p><b><br/></b></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities :</b></p><p><br/> Senior Developer (around 10 years development experience, perhaps with recent team lead responsibilities) working in a scrum team to deliver robust enterprise-wide solutions utilising industry standard practices.<br/><br/> - Design, develop, enhance and maintain applications using agreed coding standards and quality targets.<br/><br/> - Ensure quality code reviews and thorough unit tests are executed by the team.<br/><br/> - Liaise with immediate scrum team, other scrum/project teams, line manager and development leads to ensure accurate and complete delivery.<br/><br/> - Contribute to the development and implementation of software development best practices within Glencore IT.<br/><br/> - Support and mentor other developers in all areas of the development lifecycle.<br/><br/> - Contribute to the development and implementation of software development best practices within Glencore IT.<br/><br/> - Support and mentor junior developers in all areas of the development Competencies & Skills :</b></p><p><br/>- Expertise of web front-end and back-end development to include most of the following :<br/><br/>1.
C# and .NET8+<br/><br/>2.
Rest APIs incorporated with SQL Server or Sybase DB.<br/><br/>3.
Angular 16+<br/><br/>4.
Typescript, ES6, HTML5, CSS3<br/><br/> - Experience with Git, Jira and Confluence.<br/><br/> - Experience with ORMs : NHibernate and/or Entity Framework.<br/><br/> - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.<br/><br/> - Strong problem-solving skills.<br/><br/> - Ability to grasp complex multi-part systems.<br/><br/> - A willingness to engage with be interested in the trading and commercial activities of the business.<br/><br/> - Delivery focused and strong team player.<br/><br/> - Working independently without close supervision.<br/><br/>- Demonstrate expertise of :<br/><br/>1.
Building modern-web applications with Angular 16+<br/><br/>2.
Modern UI design principles.<br/><br/> - Able to take initial design direction and interpret those guidelines to finalise the design through to a solution.<br/><br/> - API Design and development fundamentals.<br/><br/> - Good SQL/Sybase knowledge.<br/><br/> - Functional and functional-reactive programming in Typescript.<br/><br/> - Functional requirements and system design specifications.<br/><br/> - Test case preparation and execution.<br/><br/> - Setup of development environments to include source code and version control.<br/><br/> - Software builds & experience requirements :</b></p><p><br/> - Extensive experience of designing and developing applications both individually and as part of a team.<br/><br/> - Knowledge of a commodity or financial trading environment useful but not a pre-requisite.<br/><br/> - Strong inter-personal and communication skills (both verbal and written).<br/><br/> - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to technical problems.<br/><br/> - Ability to coach and mentor peers within the scrum team.<br/><br/> - Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum team environment.<br/><br/> - Educated to Degree-level (or equivalent), as a minimum.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
