- Key Responsibilities:
- Imperva Database Security Implementation:
- Deploy and manage Imperva Database Security solutions across various database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Configure Imperva SecureSphere, Imperva Data Security, and other Imperva products to provide real-time monitoring, auditing, and protection for database environments.
- Implement data masking, vulnerability assessment, and data encryption strategies to safeguard sensitive information.
- Database Security Management:
- Monitor database activities using Imperva solutions, identifying any anomalies or potential threats to database security.
- Configure and tune security policies, including user access controls, activity monitoring, and audit logs to detect and mitigate malicious or unauthorized access.
- Perform database vulnerability assessments and recommend security patches or updates to address potential risks.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS by implementing appropriate database security controls.
- Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
- Investigate and respond to database security incidents, working to identify the root cause and resolve any breaches or vulnerabilities.
- Analyze security events and logs to detect suspicious activity or potential threats to database environments.
- Collaborate with the IT security team to resolve security incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Security Auditing and Reporting:
- Generate audit reports for database security activities, including access logs, data access patterns, and violations of security policies.
- Provide security metrics and reports to management to inform on the effectiveness of database security measures and highlight any ongoing risks.
- Review and analyze audit logs for irregularities or signs of potential security violations or breaches.
- Database Hardening and Optimization:
- Work with the database administration team to implement database hardening measures and improve security posture.
- Perform security tuning of databases by applying best practices to improve performance, security, and efficiency.
- Review database configurations for security vulnerabilities and apply best practices to minimize risk.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including database administrators, network engineers, and security teams to ensure the protection of database assets.
- Assist in the training and awareness of database security best practices across IT teams.
- Share insights into new threats and vulnerabilities impacting databases, suggesting new ways to protect sensitive data.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Keep up to date with the latest database security trends, vulnerabilities, and new features in Imperva products.
- Recommend and implement improvements to database security practices based on the latest industry trends, security threats, and evolving business needs.
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in database security or database administration.
- Hands-on experience with Imperva database security solutions such as SecureSphere, Data Security, or Cloud WAF.
- Strong knowledge of database platforms like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with data protection strategies including encryption, masking, and data loss prevention.
- Proficient in database vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and audit logging.
- Familiarity with industry regulations like GDPR, PCI DSS, and HIPAA in relation to database security.
- Strong incident response skills, including the ability to analyze and resolve security incidents in a timely manner.
- Experience with SIEM systems (Security Information and Event Management) for monitoring and analyzing security data.
- Knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, and access control policies for securing databases
