Job description

Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Engineer – Telecommunications is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of communication network infrastructure projects, including fiber optics and related systems.

The role requires conducting feasibility assessments, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance, and resolving technical issues related to infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop infrastructure for communication networks, including fiber optics, cables, and related components.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, engineering assessments, and risk analyses for infrastructure projects.

  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and relevant government entities to ensure project execution aligns with approved standards and CRA/Ashghal regulations.

  • Monitor and address issues during the implementation phase and perform inspection visits as needed.

  • Resolve engineering-related issues concerning infrastructure planning and development.

  • Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, project supervision, and infrastructure implementation.

  • Conduct benchmarking studies related to infrastructure sharing and development based on task requirements.

  • Review design submissions via QDRS and provide feedback in line with CRA regulations.

  • Process and review applications on the Coordination Services System and facilitate approvals.

  • Provide access approval to service providers through the Duct Management System.

  • Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by the Line Manager or Head of Department.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in telecom infrastructure projects and coordination with regulatory bodies.

  • Strong knowledge of CRA regulations, Ashghal guidelines, and duct/fiber infrastructure systems.

  • Proficiency in systems such as QDRS, Coordination Services System, and Duct Management System.

  • Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
