Maimsd Technology is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Administrator with a strong focus on Routing & Switching to manage and support our organization's IT infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining hardware systems, resolving user-level issues, managing networks (LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches), and ensuring the seamless performance and security of workstations and all IT equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Workstation & Peripheral Management:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Perform OS installations, driver updates, and system re-imaging as needed.
Network Management (Routing & Switching Focus):
- Monitor and maintain local networks (LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches).
- Handle basic network troubleshooting related to IP addressing and connectivity issues.
- Support basic network security practices, including firewall updates, antivirus management, and system patching.
Hardware & Vendor Coordination:
- Handle hardware repair or coordinate with vendors for replacements and warranty claims.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for escalations, warranty claims, and AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) support.
User & System Administration:
- Set up and manage user accounts, email configurations, and software licensing.
- Regularly back up data and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and ensure hardware/software compliance.
Technical Support:
- Provide prompt and effective technical support to employees, both onsite and remotely.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4 - 10 years of experience in IT support / system administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, hardware components, and system imaging.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, IP addressing, and basic routing and switching troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with remote desktop tools, Active Directory, and antivirus software.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of IT security best practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Linux OS and basic command-line operations.
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems (e.g., Zoho Desk, Jira, Freshservice).
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ / Network+ / MCSA / CCNA (added advantage).
