Profile Description

We're seeking someone to join our team as Fullstack Java Engineering Lead will be a part of our Wealth Management team, to will play a key role in helping transform how Morgan Stanley operates

WM_Technology

Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business.

Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.



Wealth Management

In the Wealth Management division, we help people, businesses and institutions build, preserve, and manage wealth so they can pursue their financial goals.



Software Engineering

This is Vice President position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What you'll do in the role:

• We are looking to hire a talented software engineer having 10+ years of experience to join the Advisory team in the Morgan Stanley Alpharetta, GA office.
• The Advisory team is responsible for maintaining and building systems for Advisory business.
• We are working on a Portfolio Management System for UMA business to build the next generation of systems using latest technologies and techniques and hence are looking for a software engineer to help drive the development.
• The role is primarily to create and maintain portfolio trading application built using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, Angular and REST APIs.

What you'll bring to the role:

• Experience in financial domain and understanding of portfolio management functions.
• Experience in building trading applications.
  
  Knowledge of stock market and trading business.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail
• Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks and projects.
• At least 8 years of hand-on Java EE and core Java experience with strong leadership qualities
• Experience in developing client-server, distributed, real-time applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot and Apache Kafka
• Good knowledge of Concurrency and high volume server side development
• Working knowledge of Cloud development environment and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Azure
• Experience with web service development, REST and Services Oriented Architecture
• Excellent knowledge and experience in front end technologies like Angular, HTML5/CSS3, AJAX, JavaScript.
• Shell scripting and Python scripting knowledge in Unix/Linux environment.
• Involvement in full Software Development Life Cycle of the project.
• Working experience in SQLS / Stored Procedures with a RDBMS.
• Experience working with Source Code Management solutions like (ex.
  
  Git, Perforce, CVS)
• Experience testing software (e.g. Unit testing, using frameworks, performance testing/tuning)
• Strong object-oriented design and development skills
