<p></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Java/J2EE Engineer to join our development team for a project with GAP.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including coding, unit testing, deployment, and production support in an Agile/DevOps environment.
This role requires strong expertise in Java technologies, microservices, event-driven architectures, and modern CI/CD practices.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>Key Responsibilities : </p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Work on event-driven systems using Kafka or Azure Event Hub, and integrate with other enterprise services via JMS.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Implement and optimize data models using both SQL (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB or equivalent).</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Ensure unit testing, integration testing, and automation testing are in place (TDD/BDD).</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Work on CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and maintain code quality with tools like Sonar.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and QA engineers in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Provide production support and troubleshoot issues to ensure application stability and performance.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Actively contribute to sprint deliverables while ensuring alignment with business objectives.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate builds, deployments, and monitoring solutions.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Contribute to system monitoring and troubleshooting using tools like Splunk, New Relic, or equivalent.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Exposure to PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry), AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), or other cloud environments for application deployment and scaling.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Drive adoption of best practices in design, coding, performance, and security.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Stay updated with emerging technologies and proactively suggest improvements.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>Required Skills & Qualifications : </p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>Core Skills : </p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Strong experience in Java / J2EE application development.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Proficiency in Spring Boot and REST API design & development.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Hands-on experience with Kafka or Azure Event Hub, and JMS.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Expertise in SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and code quality tools (SonarQube).</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Good knowledge of Agile methodology, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with DevOps concepts and modern software engineering practices.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Cloud platforms : PCF, AKS, Azure, or AWS.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Basic knowledge of front-end frameworks (React preferred).</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Experience in application monitoring & logging (Splunk, New Relic, ELK stack).</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Experience in the Retail/E-commerce domain.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Salary as per industry standards.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Opportunity to work on a large-scale global retail project with GAP.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Exposure to cutting-edge technologies in Agile and Cloud environments.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p>- Collaborative work culture with growth opportunities.</p><p></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
