<p><b>About the Role : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Jira Developer to join our technology team.
This role demands expertise in designing, customizing, and maintaining Atlassian Jira ecosystems in complex enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing advanced workflows, developing and integrating plugins, and ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of Jira Data Center instances.
You will also lead initiatives around Jira upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and system optimization, while collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities : </b></p><p><br/></p><p><b>Jira Workflow Engineering : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Design, develop, and customize advanced Jira workflows including post-functions, validators, conditions, and automation rules.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Create and maintain custom field configurations, schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes to align with business needs.</p><p><br/></p><p><b>Plugin Development & Administration : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Expertise in developing and managing Atlassian plugins including ScriptRunner, Tempo, MISC, JSU, Assets, and other marketplace apps.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Write and maintain custom Groovy scripts for ScriptRunner to automate processes and extend Jira functionality.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Conduct plugin upgrades and ensure version compatibility across Data Center Upgrades & Data Center Management : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Lead Jira Data Center upgrades and Jira Wiki (Confluence) upgrade projects, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transitions.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Implement and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, including backup, restore, and failover testing.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability across clustered & Automation : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Build and support integrations between Jira and third-party systems (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, ITSM solutions).</p><p><br/></p><p>- Leverage REST APIs and automation frameworks for data synchronization and process & Best Practices : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Define and enforce Atlassian governance standards across Jira and Confluence instances.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Develop documentation, runbooks, and training materials for administrators and & Stakeholder Management : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Partner with business stakeholders, project managers, and product owners to understand requirements and deliver scalable Jira solutions.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Provide technical consultation to non-technical users and teams on Jira best practices.</p><p><br/></p><p><b>Required Skills & Qualifications : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Strong hands-on experience in Jira administration and development (Data Center environments preferred).</p><p><br/></p><p>- Proven expertise with Jira workflow customization, scheme configurations, and permission management.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Advanced proficiency with ScriptRunner (Groovy scripting) and other Atlassian plugins (Tempo, MISC, JSU, Assets, etc.).</p><p><br/></p><p>- Experience in Jira Wiki (Confluence) administration and upgrade management.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Knowledge of system architecture, clustering, and performance tuning in Jira Data Center.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Experience with disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and system migrations.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Familiarity with Jira REST APIs, integration techniques, and automation frameworks.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Strong understanding of ITIL practices and experience in ITSM/Agile/DevOps environments.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.</p> (ref:hirist.tech)
