You’ll work with the Engineering Manager, Product, and Design to shape and deliver features across our microservice ecosystem, leading delivery across a Java backend and React frontend.In the Rental Applications team, we empower agencies by digitising their day-to-day activities so they can focus on what matters most.

Our solutions help agencies find the best tenants faster and more efficiently, all through a compliant, user-friendly experience.While no two days are likely to be the same, your typical responsibilities will include:- Deliver technical solutions, contributing code and supporting delivery of features across Java, Node.js backend and React frontend- Collaborate with Engineering Manager, Product, and Design to align technical direction with business goals- Mentor and support other engineers, sharing your expertise to help them grow- Solve technical challenges in ways that enable the team to learn and extend solutions- Participate in planning, code reviews, testing and documentation- Adhere to REA Group’s engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, observability, distributed systems)- Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholdersWho we’re looking for:- Strong experience developing backend services with Java and Spring Boot (Node.js is a plus)- Solid frontend skills in React- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and microservices ecosystems- Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure automation- Proficiency in developing and optimizing relational databases, especially Postgres- Skilled in building API-driven products- Understanding of CI/CD, TDD, modern software delivery and observability- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders, Product, and Design- Experience mentoring other engineers and contributing to a positive team cultureBonus points for:- Experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch- Proficiency with data analytics tools and platforms, including SQL and Google BigQueryWhat we offer:- A hybrid and flexible approach to working.- Transport options to help you get to and from work, including home pick-up and drop-off.- Meals provided on site in our office.- Flexible leave options including parental leave, family care leave and celebration leave.- Insurances for you and your immediate family members.- Programs to support mental, emotional, financial and physical health & wellbeing.- Continuous learning and development opportunities to further your technical expertise.The values we live by:Our values are at the core of how we operate, treat each other, and make decisions.
