About the Role:

Position Title: Trade Finance - Lead

Corporate Title: AVP

Location: Bengaluru

Job Profile:

• This position will be in the Trade Finance Technology team, Corporate Investment & Transaction Banking (CITB) technology department within EMEA Technology.
  
  
• Our team is managing EMEA Trade Finance systems, most of which are external vendors’ cloud or other MUFG regions’ on-premise systems and providing functionality of Trade Finance products such as L/Cs and Guarantees for conventional Trade Finance for Export/Import, Supply Chain Finance and Commodity Trade Finance.
  
  
• This role requires Technical Management of EMEA Trade Finance systems with the Product Owner in collaboration with the external service providers, business and technology stakeholders in MUFG, contributing business strategies and in-flight projects as a technical SME of EMEA Technology, ensuring that MUFG delivers reliable financial services to the clients and enhances its’ capability and efficiency continuously.
  
  This role reports to the Head of Trade Finance Technology in CITB.
  
  

Main purpose of this role:

• Providing MUFG business users with Trade Finance IT services stability.
  
  
• Managing Trade Finance applications in line with MUFG internal IT control policies and procedures.
  
  
• Enhancing IT control for Trade Finance applications and ensuring all systems follow regulatory guidelines.
  
  
• Perform technical design and discussion and leading implementation especially for WebLogic application in the Trade Finance team.
  
  
• Collaborating other technology teams, business stakeholders, external vendors and MUFG Bank’s other branches.
  
  

Position details:

• Lead the technical delivery of business requirements gathered from various stakeholders, and fix technical incidents
• Maintain and update technical documents such as technical service manuals and dataflow diagrams.
  
  
• Compliance with MUFG internal policies and procedures such as IT risk control and cyber security and ensure all Trade Finance applications follow those procedures.
  
  
• Report service availability and performance to business stakeholders and senior management periodically.
  
  
• Establish and maintain strong relationship with the stakeholders in MUFG and external cloud service providers.
  
  

Job Requirements:

Skills:

Mandatory

• Able to use RedHat Enterprise Linux with its command line and manage Oracle Weblogic
• Understands technical specifications and discusses with technology teams and external IT service providers.
  
  
• Problem solving as well as excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  
  
• Analytical and debugging skills to find out issues, root causes and discuss possible solutions.
  
  
• Meticulous documentation skills with a drive to produce high quality deliverables.
  
  
• Awareness of the structure, skills and business environment of a financial services organisation.
  
  
• Holistic approach to IT control such as service level management, cyber security assessment, change management

Preferable:

• Knowledge of network protocols TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, IP whitelisting, and web protocols HTTP, SSL/TLS
• Knowledge of third party Web API specification and how it works.
  
  
• Knowledge on IT trends and fundamental technologies of digitalisation in the Trade Finance domain such as blockchain.
  
  
• Knowledge on Software Development lifecycle in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  
  
• Knows SQL and shell scripts.
  
  
• Able to learn both IT and business subjects quickly and apply them to day to day work

Work Experience:

Mandatory:

• Application development with Linux servers or Linux server administration (3+ years)
• Web application development with WebLogic (3+ years)
• Minimum of 5-years experience of working as an IT engineer/developer for business applications within financial services.
  
  

Preferable:

• Establishing a system support model for users in system rollout projects or system transition projects.
  
  
• IT full stack development from network and OS to web front-end technologies, or equivalent broad and deep knowledge.
  
  
• Vendor management of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms, including contract management.
  
  
• Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms such as AWS and Azure, or equivalent broad knowledge.
  
  
• Establishing or providing service level agreement and periodic performance report.
  
  
• Integrating external cloud platforms and in-house systems for end-to-end processing.
  
  

Education / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• Master’s degree in Information Technology is preferred
