<p><p>Take your career to new heights with Loopio! .<br/><br/>Loopio is a workplace that unleashes learning & growth opportunities for our Loopers.<br/><br/>We provide autonomous, challenging work that allows each employee to master their craft.<br/><br/>We attract and retain people who are naturally curious, have grit and are eager to grow and build their careers.<br/><br/>At Loopio, we genuinely support each other, because true success comes from working as #oneteam.<br/><br/>Were seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Manager of Machine Learning & Applied Science to lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced NLP, LLM, and agent-based systems that power our AI capabilities.<br/><br/>This is a deeply technical leadership role for someone who actively engages with the latest research, prototypes innovative approaches, and translates them into production-grade solutions that deliver measurable customer impact.<br/><br/>You will manage and mentor a team of Machine Learning Engineers and Applied Scientists, set the technical direction for modeling efforts, and ensure projects are executed with speed, accountability, and scientific rigour.<br/><br/>The role demands both high-caliber technical leadership and direct contribution to complex modeling and system design.<br/><br/>This role requires close collaboration with teams across Canada, the UK, and India.<br/><br/>To accommodate the time zone differences, you will be expected to work from 11 am 7 :30 pm IST.<br/><br/><b>What Youll Be Doing :</b><br/><br/>- Lead Modeling and System Development : Own the scope, architecture, and delivery of ML models and systems across NLP, large language models (LLM), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and multi-agent orchestration.<br/><br/>- Ensure initiatives are technically sound, feasible, and aligned with product objectives.<br/><br/>- Hands-On Applied Science and Engineering : Actively review research papers, identify promising techniques, and adapt them into working prototypes.<br/><br/>- Implement and optimize LLMs for reasoning, planning, and decision-making.<br/><br/>- Build and deploy intelligent agent workflows, including context-aware copilots, tool orchestration, and continuous feedback loops to improve automation and accuracy.<br/><br/>- People Leadership : Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing applied science team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and urgency.<br/><br/>- Provide regular feedback, support career growth, and set a high technical bar.<br/><br/>- Delivery and Collaboration : Drive project plans for modeling initiatives, monitor progress, and hold the team accountable for delivering high-quality, high-impact ML systems on time.<br/><br/>- Work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to integrate models effectively, validate performance, and deliver measurable customer value.<br/><br/><b>What Youll Bring To The Team :</b><br/><br/>- Applied Machine Learning : Expertise 5+ years of experience in applied ML, with a focus on NLP, large language models, transformers, retrieval-based methods, and multi-agent systems.<br/><br/>- Adept at evaluating academic research and translating promising ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions that deliver measurable impact.<br/><br/>- Technical Execution and Engineering Rigor : Strong Python programming skills and deep experience with frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.<br/><br/>- Skilled in designing ML architectures, prototyping solutions, and deploying models via APIs or services.<br/><br/>- Brings a pragmatic, systems-oriented mindset to solving complex technical problems.<br/><br/>- People Leadership : 2+ years leading applied ML teams, with a track record of building high-performance, high-ownership environments.<br/><br/>- Known for setting clear expectations, mentoring team members, and fostering a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and results-oriented delivery.<br/><br/>- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Proven ability to work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to align ML efforts with broader business goals.<br/><br/>- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, making trade-offs, and driving progress through clear communication and shared accountability.<br/><br/><b>Where Youll Work :</b><br/><br/>Loopio is a remote-first workplace because we recognize the advantages of working flexibly.<br/><br/>We are HQd in Canada, with established hub regions around the world where we hire from.<br/><br/>Our employees (or Loopers, as we call ourselves!) live and work in -
