<p><p><b>Job Description :<br/></b><br/><br/>The qualified individual will join a team to provide L3 System Admin Infrastructure support for fixed income information and analytics products.<br/><br/>This team is responsible for enabling the core infrastructure for fixed income reference data, used by internal and external LSEG content clients worldwide.<br/><br/>The candidate will be coordinating with teams from multiple locations including USA, Beijing, and Bangalore.<br/><br/><b><br/>Day to Day Responsibilities :<br/></b><br/>- Position is a System Support engineer in the Unix environment.<br/><br/>- Primary skills used will be Unix, Linux, Bash, Shell and System Administration.<br/><br/>- Candidate will perform a wide array of tasks: support of AutoSys automated jobs, data entry web pages and automated data feeds; critical issue and solve of system-wide outages and urgent problems; answering data analyst and business group questions; performing bugfixes; helping to prototype new systems on new hardware.<br/><br/>- Position includes full support (including monitoring) of our test and pre-production environments, and as-needed on-call support of production and disaster recovery environments that are supervised by operations staff.<br/><br/>- This position is not an operations position and entails some light development, solve, manual fixes, and debugging.<br/><br/>- All communication is performed through tickets, and the support engineer will be part of a small team performing this function.<br/><br/>- Support engineer will also be encouraged to supervise ongoing problems, come up with potential solutions for them, automate repetitive or manual tasks, participate in post-mortem discussions, and build tools that make support easier and lessen the risk of future service outages.<br/><br/><b>Education Qualification :</b><br/><br/>- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field experience.<br/><br/><b>Required Skills :</b><br/><br/>- 6+ years Unix & Linux Administration work experience and be proficient on automation using one of the scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl).<br/><br/>- Strong solid grasp on Unix operating systems (e.g., Solaris & Linux).<br/><br/>- Hands on experience of backend system test build and implementation.<br/><br/>- 6 + years of hands-on experience Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.<br/><br/>- Good at OS Boot Issues : Solve OS boot-related issues.<br/><br/>- Hands on Experience with Autosys, including installing the scheduler (Primary, Shadow & Tiebreaker) and maintaining high availability.<br/><br/>- Review and analyse requirements, specifications, and technical build documents, providing the test plan timely.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with Linux/Unix platform, backend system, web application servers.<br/><br/>- Familiar with Agile quality assurance process and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence etc.<br/><br/>- Good at handling File System Issues : Handle file system-related issues.<br/><br/>- On-Call Support : Provide support in an on-call rotation in a 24x7 environment.<br/><br/>- Prior Cloud experience will be an added advantage (Preferably Azure).<br/><br/><b>Desired Skills :</b><br/><br/>- Solid grasp of Unix operating systems (e.g., Solaris & Linux).<br/><br/>- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl).<br/><br/>- Familiarity with networking protocols and server security mechanisms.<br/><br/>- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle various tasks.<br/><br/>- Knowledge on Autosys and Cloud would be an added advantage.<br/><br/></p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
