Role Overview:
The Manager - Technology Policy & Innovation will lead the delivery of diverse consulting engagements at the intersection of technology, public policy, and innovation .
The role involves collaborating closely with government and private sector stakeholders in India and abroad, focusing on areas such as Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) , Artificial Intelligence (AI) , Digital Public Goods (DPGs) , Regulatory Sandboxes , and emerging sectors like HealthTech, AgTech, and FinTech .
The position involves 80% client-facing work and 20% MSC office-based activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Execution
- Lead and manage consulting projects in technology policy and innovation , especially in DPI and AI domains.
- Conduct problem identification, issue analysis, and develop actionable policy or strategy recommendations.
- Support implementation initiatives such as Innovation Labs , Hackathons , or regulatory sandbox environments.
- Handle client and stakeholder management , ensuring project milestones are achieved.
- Manage and mentor a team of Analysts and Associates.
- Develop high-quality reports, presentations, policy briefs, and project documentation .
- Represent MSC in client meetings, conferences, and workshops in India and internationally.
Business Development
- Develop pitch decks, concept notes, and proposals for prospective clients.
- Contribute to thought leadership through policy briefs, op-eds, or research publications.
- Lead digital campaigns around MSC's focus areas in technology and innovation.
Professional Development
- Continuously enhance expertise in digital governance, DPI, AI, and innovation ecosystems through training and certifications.
- Contribute to capacity-building initiatives within MSC.
- Provide and seek constructive feedback for professional growth.
Qualifications & Competencies
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Computer Science, Information Systems, or Electronics & Communication (Preferred)
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, or Law (Preferred)
- Certifications or coursework in technology policy, innovation management, or digital governance are desirable
Experience:
- 8-12 years of experience in technology policy, management consulting, or innovation ecosystems
- Prior experience with a consulting firm or think-tank working on technology-public policy intersections
- Sound understanding of Digital Public Infrastructure and Artificial Intelligence frameworks
