<p>A Day in your life at MKS :</p><p><br/>A professional Database Administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7.
The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.<br/><br/> Key Responsibilities :</p><p><br/></p><p>- Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and availability of SQL Server instances.<br/><br/>- Perform daily database administration tasks including backups, restores, integrity checks, and job monitoring.<br/><br/>- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues such as deadlocks, blocking, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems.<br/><br/>- Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions like Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, and Database Mirroring.<br/><br/>- Apply patches and updates to SQL Server environments under guidance from L3/Sr. DBA.<br/><br/>- Collaborate with application and development teams to deploy database changes and optimize queries.<br/><br/>- Support incident and change management processes in alignment with ITIL practices.<br/><br/>- Generate and maintain documentation related to database configurations, standard procedures, and best practices.<br/><br/> Required Skills & Experience : </p><p><br/></p><p>- 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a MS SQL Server DBA.<br/><br/>- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and above) including SSMS, Agent Jobs, and SQL Profiler.<br/><br/>- Experience with backup and recovery strategies using native tools or third-party solutions.<br/><br/>- Working knowledge of indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning techniques.<br/><br/>- Experience with monitoring tools like SQL Sentry, Redgate, SolarWinds, or similar.<br/><br/>- Proficient in T-SQL for scripting and automation.<br/><br/>- Familiar with Windows Server administration basics and Active Directory integration.<br/><br/> Preferred Qualifications : </p><p><br/></p><p>- Microsoft certification (i.e., MCSA / MCSE / Azure Data Engineer) is a plus.<br/><br/>- Basic understanding of on-Prim and cloud-based SQL deployments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.</p><p><br/></p><p>- Exposure to PowerShell scripting for automation.<br/><br/>- Experience working in a 24x7 production environment or on-call rotation.<br/><br/> Soft Skills : </p><p><br/></p><p>- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.<br/><br/>- Effective verbal and written communication.<br/><br/>- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.<br/><br/>- Willingness to work in shifts and participate in on-call support as needed.<br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
