<p><p><b>Role Overview :</b></p><p><br/></p><p>As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own, operate, and continuously optimize Linux-based platforms and Kubernetes environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.<br/><br/> You will lead a team of engineers, delegate complex tasks, oversee project execution, and set technical direction across virtualization, storage, security, and automation.<br/><br/> This is a leadership-driven role requiring both hands-on expertise and strategic Responsibilities :</b></p><p><br/><b>Leadership & Ownership : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- Plan, delegate, and track tasks for the DevOps team.<br/><br/></p><p>- Oversee sprint/release cycles, drive Agile ceremonies, and ensure timely delivery with documentation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Act as the escalation point for technical and operational challenges.<br/><br/><b>Platform Engineering : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- Administer and optimize Linux (RHEL/CentOS) servers with kernel tuning and patching.<br/><br/></p><p>- Manage VMware/Red Hat virtualization (HA/DR, templates, vSwitch, resource pools).<br/><br/></p><p>- Provision and manage storage (block, file, object); design quota strategies.<br/><br/><b>Database & Middleware : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- Operate SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) clusters.<br/><br/></p><p>- Perform query optimization, clustering, and backup/restore strategies.<br/><br/></p><p>- Deploy and manage CMS (Drupal, WordPress) across multi-stage environments.<br/><br/><b>Containers & Orchestration : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- Lead Kubernetes operations (installations, upgrades, ingress, RBAC, CNI policies).<br/><br/></p><p>- Manage Docker image registries, CI/CD pipelines, and container hygiene.<br/><br/><b>Automation & Observability : </b><br/><br/></p><p>- Build advanced automation scripts (Bash/Python) for deployment and remediation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Implement observability with metrics, tracing, alerts, and SLOs.<br/><br/></p><p>- Benchmark and fine-tune performance across compute, storage, and network.<br/><br/><p><b>Security & Compliance :</b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Drive infrastructure hardening (CIS benchmarks, firewalls, TLS/PKI).</p><p><br/></p>- Conduct VA/PT remediation, patch cycles, and compliance reporting.<br/><br/><p><b>Cloud & Distributed Systems : </b></p><p><br/></p>- Operate OpenStack and Ceph clusters (setup, scaling, troubleshooting).<br/><br/></p><p>- Ensure cloud-native resilience, HA/DR, and cost Skills & Experience :</b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Expert Linux administration with kernel-level knowledge.</p><p><br/></p>- Strong virtualization (VMware/Red Hat) management experience.<br/><br/></p><p>- Kubernetes mastery (Helm, Kustomize, ingress, multi-node clusters).<br/><br/></p><p>- SQL and NoSQL database administration and optimization.<br/><br/></p><p>- Advanced scripting (Bash, Python optional) for infrastructure automation.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong observability skills : logs, tracing, metrics, and performance benchmarking.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proven leadership in Agile/Scrum-driven Certifications :</b></p><p><br/></p><p>- RHCE, RHCSA</p><p><br/></p>- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)<br/><br/></p><p>- VMware VCP<br/><br/></p><p>- OpenStack / Ceph certifications<br/><br/></p><p>- Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP Associate)</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
