Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Node.js Developer to design, develop, and optimize scalable, high-availability APIs and microservices.
This role is vital for building resilient server-side solutions supporting core business functions within banking, financial services, or fintech environments.
The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to enhance system performance, ensure security compliance, and contribute to innovative distributed service ecosystems aligned with enterprise agility and modern technology standards.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Node.js (certified experience with recent versions) with extensive experience in developing RESTful APIs that are scalable and highly available
Strong knowledge of TypeScript (minimum 1-year hands-on experience)
Practical experience with GraphQL for API design and data querying
Expertise with CI/CD pipelines, automation, troubleshooting in distributed systems environments
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes
Experience with API Gateway integrations (e.g., 3Scale beneficial)
Solid understanding of authentication protocols such as OAuth, JWT, and Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations
Experience working with message queues and event streaming platforms, including Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, Pushpin, or Azure Service Bus
Familiarity with cloud services (preferably AWS), including EC2, Lambda, S3, Secrets Manager, KMS, and IAM policies
Preferred Skills:
Experience with additional languages like Python or C# is a plus
Knowledge of OpenAPI specifications and API management tools
Overall Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure server-side APIs and microservices
Implement performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring techniques to optimize system throughput and reliability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define detailed technical requirements, ensuring solutions meet business needs
Drive API security, including token-based authentication, OAuth, and best security practices
Manage containerized environments and streamline deployment pipelines leveraging CI/CD best practices
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed services ecosystems, ensuring minimal downtime
Contribute to architecture reviews, technical documentation, and code quality standards
Stay updated on emerging technology trends and incorporate relevant solutions to improve processes and system capabilities

Experience Requirements
Minimum of 7 years of professional development experience with Node.js and JavaScript-based technologies
Proven expertise in building highly available RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
Demonstrated experience with containerization, orchestration, and cloud deployment
Exposure to working with message queues and real-time data streaming platforms (Kafka, AWS SQS, etc.)
Experience in banking, fintech, or enterprise environments is preferred but not mandatory
Breadth of experience in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security implementation in distributed service ecosystems
Day-to-Day Activities
Design, develop, and deploy new microservices and APIs to support core business functions
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and DevOps teams to define technical requirements and solutions
Write and review code, documentation, and API specifications according to best practices
Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement performance improvements
Manage containerized deployments and automate workflows with CI/CD pipelines
Engage in security assessments, implement token-based authentication, and ensure compliance standards
Participate in Agile ceremonies: stand-ups, planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Share knowledge through peer reviews, mentoring, and technical documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
Certifications related to cloud platforms or API security are an advantage
Continuous professional development through relevant training, courses, or certifications is encouraged
