We're in pursuit of colleagues who share similar passions, are nimble and thrive when challenged.</p><br/><p>We offer a positive, stimulating and fun environment with opportunities to grow, a fast-paced approach to innovation, and a place where your views are valued and encouraged.</p><br/><p>We invite you to push your boundaries and join us in fulfilling your career aspirations!</p><br/><p><b>Position Overview : </b></p><br/><p>We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Level 3 Redis and Kafka DBA to manage and support our real-time data infrastructure.</p><br/><p>The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in managing, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.</p><br/><p>This role will involve working closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal performance and availability of data services.</p><br/><p><b>Roles and Responsibilities : </b></p><br/><p>- SME in at least one functional module of the system or service</p><br/><p>- Design and quality ownership of the service owned as the the SME</p><br/><p>- Say/do ratio of > 95% in execution</p><br/><p>- Code reviews and quality gatekeeper for the SME area</p><br/><p>- Assist and mentor junior members</p><br/><p>- Responsible for enforcing code reviews and test coverage</p><br/><p>- Ensure no regressions in the modules owned</p><br/><p>- Serve on interview panels and help grow the organization</p><br/><p><b>Roles & Responsibilities : </b></p><p><b><br/></b></p><p><b>Redis and Kafka Administration : </b></p><p><br/></p><p>- Manage and maintain Redis clusters (standalone, sentinel, and Redis Enterprise setups).</p><br/><p>- Perform upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.</p><br/><p>- Configure persistence (RDB, AOF) and high availability.</p><br/><p>- Monitor Redis performance and tune configuration parameters.</p><br/><p>- Handle backup/recovery and disaster recovery planning.</p><br/><p>- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.</p><br/><p>- Deploy, configure, and maintain Kafka clusters (including Zookeeper).</p><br/><p>- Monitor Kafka performance, tune parameters, and ensure message reliability.</p><br/><p>- Manage topic creation, partitioning, replication, and retention policies.</p><br/><p>- Handle security configurations (SSL, SASL, ACLs).</p><br/><p>- Support schema registry, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and MirrorMaker.</p><br/><p>- Troubleshoot consumer/producer lag and broker-related issues.</p><br/><p><b>L3 Support :</b></p><br/><p>- Act as an escalation point for complex incidents and root cause analysis.</p><br/><p>- Automate common DBA tasks using scripting (Python, Bash etc.)</p><br/><p>- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (i.e. Terraform, Ansible).</p><br/><p>- Collaborate with SRE and DevOps to integrate with CI/CD pipelines.</p><br/><p>- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.</p><br/><p><b>Must Have Skills : </b></p><br/><p>- Overall 7+Years and 5+ years in database/infrastructure management roles.</p><br/><p>- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Redis.</p><br/><p>- 1+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka.</p><br/><p>- Proficiency in Linux systems administration.</p><br/><p>- Strong scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, or similar).</p><br/><p>- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.</p><br/><p>- Knowledge of container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).</p><br/><p>- Understanding of networking, firewalls, DNS, and load balancing.</p><br/><p><b>Good to Have : </b></p><br/><p>- Experience with Redis Enterprise and Confluent Kafka.</p><br/><p>- Certifications in Redis/Kafka/Linux.</p><br/><p>- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).</p><br/><p>- Experience in PCI/HIPAA-compliant : </b></p><br/><p>- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.</p><br/><p>- Certifications (Preferred) : MongoDB Certified DBA Associate or Professional.</p><br/><p>- Other relevant certifications in database management</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
