<p><p><b>About the job :</b><br/><br/>OpenGov is the leader in AI and ERP solutions for local and state governments <br/><br/>More than 2,000 cities, counties, state agencies, school districts, and special districts rely on the OpenGov Public Service Platform to operate efficiently, adapt to change, and strengthen the public trust.<br/><br/>Category-leading products include enterprise asset management, procurement and contract management, accounting and budgeting, billing and revenue management, permitting and licensing, and transparency and open data.<br/><br/>These solutions come together in the OpenGov ERP, allowing public sector organizations to focus on priorities and deliver maximum ROI with every dollar and decision in sync.<br/><br/>Learn about OpenGovs mission to power more effective and accountable government and the vision of high-performance government for every community at OpenGov.com.<br/><br/><b>Job Summary :</b><br/><br/>The Senior Product Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of OpenGov products by leveraging design thinking, innovative problem-solving, and advanced design expertise.<br/><br/>This position will lead the creation of user-centered solutions that seamlessly integrate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to elevate the user experience.<br/><br/>By fostering collaboration and driving strategic initiatives, the Senior Product Designer will ensure our products meet the evolving needs of both users and the business.<br/><br/><b>Responsibilities :</b><br/><br/>- Lead the application of design thinking methodologies to uncover user needs, define problems, and create innovative, scalable solutions that align with business objectives.<br/><br/>- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to align on goals, uncover insights, and design innovative solutions.<br/><br/></p><p>- Advocate for and integrate AI as a tool within the design process, leveraging it to improve efficiency, generate insights, and prototype solutions faster.<br/><br/>- Deliver end-to-end product designs, from early ideation and user research to high-fidelity mockups and interaction models, ensuring usability and accessibility.<br/><br/>- Mentor and empower team members, promoting a culture of growth, experimentation, and collaboration within the design team.<br/><br/>- Present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders, building alignment while championing a user-centered approach.<br/><br/>- Stay informed on AI advancements, industry trends, and tools, incorporating them into both the design process and the development of new features.<br/><br/>- Partner with Engineering to ensure seamless design handoffs and provide support during development to uphold design quality.<br/><br/>- Develop and facilitate workshops, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative exercises to align teams and foster innovation using design thinking principles.<br/><br/>- Contribute to the evolution of design principles and practices that guide product consistency, scalability, and excellence.<br/><br/>- Conduct comprehensive user research, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and contextual inquiries, to deeply understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors.<br/><br/><b>Requirements And Preferred Experience :</b><br/><br/>- 7+ years of professional experience in product design, with a proven ability to solve complex problems and lead cross-functional initiatives.<br/><br/>- Demonstrated experience in conducting user research and usability testing.<br/><br/>- Demonstrated expertise in applying design thinking to uncover insights, ideate solutions, and drive innovation.<br/><br/>- Experience designing AI-driven features or products that leverage machine learning, predictive analytics, or intelligent automation.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with using AI as a design tool, such as for generating ideas, streamlining workflows, or enhancing prototyping.<br/><br/>- Proficiency in Figma, with advanced skills in creating and managing reusable components, variants, and design libraries to ensure scalability and consistency.<br/><br/>- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.<br/><br/>- Advanced proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, with a strong focus on prototyping and interaction design.<br/><br/>- Deep knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and their application in creating inclusive solutions.<br/><br/>- Passion for creating user-centered designs, with a strong attention to detail and a focus on measurable impact.<br/><br/>- Experience designing for responsive web, mobile, and multi-platform environments.<br/><br/>- A passion 'To power more effective and accountable government,' paired with a strong commitment to improving the lives of local and state government workers through impactful, user-focused design</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
