- Key Responsibilities
- OpenShift/Kubernetes Platform Management
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters.
- Manage and troubleshoot container orchestration, including deployments, scaling, and networking within OpenShift/Kubernetes.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications using relevant tools.
- Monitor cluster health, resource utilization, and performance; take proactive measures to optimize.
- Ensure security best practices are applied to OpenShift/Kubernetes environments and container images.
- Linux System Administration
- Perform advanced Linux system administration, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or CentOS.
- Manage and optimize Linux environments for containerized workloads.
- Implement and maintain system security and access controls.
- Virtualization & Cloud Technologies
- Deploy and manage products and infrastructure in a Linux environment using virtualization technologies, primarily VMware vSphere.
- Leverage expertise in cloud deployment strategies, with an understanding of public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with OpenStack is a significant advantage.
- Networking & Protocols
- Strong understanding and troubleshooting skills for TCP/IP, UDP, and SNMP protocols.
- Configure and manage network services and firewalls in Linux and virtualized environments.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues affecting containerized applications and underlying infrastructure.
- Hardware Knowledge
- Work with and troubleshoot various hardware components, including EMC VNX, Unity Storage, HP blade servers (e.g., BL460c), HP C7000 enclosures, Brocade SAN switches, and HP switches (e.g., HPE 5510/HPE 6127 XLG).
- Understand integration of hardware with virtualization and container platforms.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Demonstrate excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex issues across Linux, VMware vSphere, OpenShift, and Kubernetes environments.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate effectively with development, operations, and other IT teams.
- Clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
- Certified in RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) — mandatory.
- Strong practical experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of VMware products, especially vSphere.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, UDP, and SNMP.
- Proven experience in deploying products in virtualized Linux environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Desired Skills (Added Advantage)
- Hands-on experience with OpenStack.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
