Job Description

Products, Cloud Engineering and Operations business function is responsible for ensuring that Basware continues to provide its customers with industry leading SaaS solutions to simplify operations and spend smarter.

This global function creates and executes the product strategy, new product innovations, roadmap, design, product development and product launches for Basware’s global product portfolio.

Together with other Basware units, Products, Cloud Engineering and Operations ensures that our customers can successfully meet their business objectives through cooperating with Basware and using our product and service portfolio.

Oracle Database Administrator:

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing our databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

You will work primarily with Oracle databases in AWS, however we also have a large number of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server instances across AWS and Azure so experience in one of these is a major plus.

This is a hands-on technical role that requires a mix of database expertise, troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to automation and monitoring.

We are looking for a Database Administrator who will play an important role in the support of Basware's production systems.

As part of a global operation you will work closely with our colleagues in operations, customer support and R&D teams.

Due to the global nature of this position proficiency in English is required.

Skills & Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

- Administer, configure, and maintain Oracle databases running in AWS.

- Manage database systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL (AWS), and SQL Server (Azure) according to your experience.

- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to maintain 24/7 availability.

- Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support.

- Implement and maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

- Automate routine maintenance tasks, monitoring, and alerting to minimize manual intervention.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required.

- Hands-on experience with AWS RDS/Aurora.

- Experience of MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQL Server are highly beneficial.

- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment.

- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools is a plus.
