Hi,We are looking for Platform Engineer (focus on Omnissa Horizon VDI)In-depth experience with VMware Horizon VDIPlanning, operation and further development of Horizon VDI environments (including Connection Server, Composer, UAG, App Volumes, DEM, etc.)Knowledge of integrating Horizon with other VMware products (e.g. vSphere, vSAN)In-depth knowledge of Active DirectoryManagement of policies, groups, user rights and GPOs in the context of VDIIntegration and troubleshooting of AD connections in the VDI environmentIn-depth knowledge of Windows and networksConfident use of Windows operating systems (client & server) and their configuration in the VDI environmentGood knowledge of network technologies, routing, switching, load balancing and firewall rulesExperience in Windows and/or Linux VDISetting up, optimising and maintaining master imagesAutomation of deployment and maintenance processes (e.g. with PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI)Monitoring and troubleshootingUse and configuration of monitoring tools (e.g. vRealize Operations, ControlUp) for monitoring and error analysis of Horizon environmentsSecurity and complianceImplementation of security policies and best practices in the VDI environment (e.g. multi-factor authentication, encryption, patch management)Documentation and knowledge managementCreation and maintenance of operating documentation, operating manuals and knowledge databasesWillingness to be on callParticipation in rotating on-call duties to ensure 24/7 operation of the VDI platformSoft skillsAnalytical thinking, structured approach to work, ability to work in a team and strong communication skillsWillingness to undergo continuous training in the field of end user computing and virtualisationRequirements:In-depth knowledge of Omnissa VDI (VMware Horizon)In-depth knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems in a VDI contextKnowledge of automation (e.g. PowerShell, Ansible)Experience with monitoring and management tools (e.g. vRealize, ControlUp)Basic knowledge of network technologies and IT securityAnalytical thinking, structured approach to work and ability to work in a team
