Responsibilities:
1.
Lead the design and development of new power system products from concept to production, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, industry standards, and company objectives.
2.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, electrical engineers, and site engineers to build and test prototypes of new power system products related to power generation, distribution, and management systems.
3.
Lead the design, development, and implementation of power and energy applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Participate in continuous improvement of product quality and contribute to the product and planning decisions.
4.
Serve as a technical expert, providing guidance and support to customers on product selection, integration, and troubleshooting.
5.
Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate the performance, reliability, and efficiency of new product concepts and designs.
6.
Develop and execute test plans to validate product performance and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
7.
Prepare detailed design documentation, including specifications, schematics, technical requirements, operation manual and test reports.
8.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer support teams to provide technical expertise and support throughout the product lifecycle.
9.
Be a flexible team member, willing to work on what the agile team needs to achieve its collective goals.
10.
Provide resolutions for technical roadblocks after discussing with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Control or Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or any related field, and relevant industrial or academic work experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years (or 2 years post PhD) of experience in power system product development or related field.
Experience working with electric utility companies preferred.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in power systems and control system simulations combining different software tools and methodologies (e.g. EMT and RMS simulations).
• Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, PSS/E, or PSCAD.
Familiarity with RTDS/ RSCAD is desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of power systems control, with a focus on system-level control of grid-connected power electronics converters.
• Knowledge of battery technologies and energy storage systems.
• Understanding of regulatory standards, grid codes and FAT/SAT processes.
• Experience in using agile tools like Jira, TFS desirable.
