We’re hiring a Distinguished LLM Engineer to lead some of our most strategic and ambitious AI initiatives.
In this highly technical, high-impact role, you’ll architect, build, and scale advanced multi-modal LLM and agentic systems that power innovative applications like storytelling, support automation, donor activation, fraud detection, and more.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of human-AI collaboration by designing scalable infrastructure, context-aware systems, and intelligent agents grounded in responsibility, transparency, and performance.
What You’ll Do
LLM System Design
- Own the entire model lifecycle: training, fine-tuning, distillation, quantization, inference, and live serving.
- Ensure models behave safely and transparently, using techniques like RLHF, guardrails, and sandboxing.
Model Diversity
- Build with a range of foundation models: OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, LLaMA, Titan, Mistral, and open-source variants.
- Implement hybrid strategies—API and self-hosted—optimizing for latency, cost, and risk.
Context Engineering
- Innovate on Model Context Protocols, prompt chaining, vector stores, and secure data conditioning.
- Integrate user history, RAG pipelines, and knowledge graphs with privacy-aware filters.
Agentic Frameworks
- Design communication protocols, memory systems, and goal-oriented reasoning agents.
- Build adaptive, long-running, multi-agent systems for collaborative AI workflows.
LLM-Powered Experience Design
- Develop AI-driven features that support people during high-need moments—campaign writing, customer support, nonprofit engagement, and more.
Full-Stack AI Engineering
- Deliver end-to-end AI systems across AWS/GCP, microservices, observability, caching, and CI/CD pipelines.
Reusable AI Assets
- Build internal frameworks: evaluation harnesses, agent libraries, contextual adapters, and prompt repositories for scale and reuse.
AI IP Development
- Partner with legal and R&D teams to formalize and protect proprietary AI innovations—frameworks, pipelines, and potentially patentable systems.
What You Bring
- 15+ years in software and ML engineering, with 3+ years building LLM-powered systems.
- Expert in transformer models and LLM toolchains (GPT, Gemini, LLaMA, Mistral, PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, LoRA, etc.).
- Deep experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, model ensembling, and agentic architectures.
- Full-stack systems fluency across cloud infra, APIs, caching, observability, and GPU orchestration.
- Comfort with agent-based systems, contextual memory, and finite-state or goal-oriented planning.
- Strong communication and leadership across product, engineering, data science, and executive stakeholders.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience building AI for nonprofits, social impact, or safety-critical applications.
- Research, patents, or open-source contributions in generative AI.
- Familiarity with MLOps, fairness auditing, privacy-preserving techniques, or model interpretability tools.
